I was a little worried that he may not send it and just give me a refund. I had chatted with him previously and he expected a bit more than I paid.

I know as I have that issue myself. And yes, I would buy those comics just for the advert alone.

I couldn't find a picture of the ad anywhere, so I had to get the comics to see how good the ad was.

Nice enough, would have been great in colour though.

I was browsing through Compal comics results and noticed a 1954 Desperate Dan annual with a misprinted cover that sold for a few hundred pounds. Quite rare apparently, so I had a quick look on ebay and found one for £20 ish. Its a bit tatty but I had to get it.

Also I ordered six 1950s Rover comics from 30th Century, to complete one of my Alf Tupper series, and they told me they were reducing all the Rovers to just 50p. I bought another 31 from 1245 to 1275, which is almost a complete run of the first Alf Tupper story (except 1244). Just got them today and they are in lovely condition.

Max Brand's Silvertip #1 - 1960 - this was a World Distributors Comic and a UK one but I can't find it on the GCD or anywhere else, just an Aussie version of the title by Magazine Management in 1960 and it's a different cover and style. Could anyone shed any light on this please?

The cover is from Dell Four Color 491. This featured a 34-pg story. The first page should have "Silvertip OS 491" lettered onto the bottom of the title panel.

If you see any Dell reprints which have a reference including OS on the first page, that was the lead story in the issue of Four Color corresponding to the number after OS.

You can see lots of issues of Four Color at http://comicbookplus.com/?cid=1409

You can see a Four Color listing at https://www.comics.org/series/279/

Just ordered the latest issue of Scream! & Misty.

Wish Rebellion would make a monthly even if it was at first a limited series to guage the interest.
