My day out in Truro

Post by Phoenix »

As the grandchildren were staying at their Nan's for a couple of nights, last Wednesday was a free day for me, so I decided to go to Truro for the day. Rather than drive up there, I went on the train. I just aimed to visit Waterstones and the two decent secondhand bookshops. From Waterstones I got 3 paperbacks, 'The Burrow' by Franz Kafka, 'The Word For World Is Forest' by Ursula Le Guin, and 'The Psychology of Time Travel' by Kate Mascarenhas. From the others I got 'The Girls Of Wakenside' by Bessie Marchant, 'Smugglers Bay' by E. E. Ellsworth, 'Doctor Doolitle's Puddleby Adventures' by Hugh Lofting, and 'Telling Tales Out Of School' - A Miscellany Of Celebrity Schooldays'. Among the many celebrities are Clare Balding, Steve Redgrave, Penelope Lively, Melvyn Bragg, Brian May, Antonia Fraser, Sue Townsend, and Ranulph Fiennes. All I have to do now is find the time to read them.

Never been a bookworm myself, but admire ones who love reading. :)
