What comics did you buy today?
Re: What comics did you buy today?
Cycled the few miles to the charity shop I usually visit once a month (hard work for an old guy like me) to see if they had any comics.
Searched through the four boxes of comics they had and could only find two Marvel comics of interest. They have a children's area with lots of annuals and I was happy to find a Gerald Swan book there , I have 4 or 5 by this publisher now and they are worth collecting if only for the great covers.
Paid £5 for all three which are pictured below.
I was only thinking the other day I would like to get more Gerald Swan books, uncanny.

Abe books is a massive online site similar to Amazon but just for books (and some comics)

Hi Adam,
I think you've forgotten to take into account Steve's wit!'

What wit, Kashgar? I have looked carefully at Steve's post without detecting any wit whatsoever.

Bang goes my stand up career.
Abraham Lincoln. Abe to his friends (among whom John Wilkes Booth was not in his coterie).

Can anyone explain what those little symbols mean beside each topic title? Some yellow, some grey, some have a star some have a plus sign. "Don't make no sense to me not nohow." Can't find a glossary anywhere.

Recently picked up the full set of 1978 Roy of the Rovers, around 50 Commandos, and some Red Daggers.
Still on the lookout for issue 16 of Roy of the Rovers Monthly to complete the set.

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Just got back from Kempton Park antiques fair. Picked up six annuals for £10.00.
Sally Annual 1973, 74 and 75
Girl Annual 1965
Princess Gift Book for Girls 1963 and 1970.
Seller had a boxful of annuals for £10 the lot but too many for me to carry so just picked these six.

Just got the first Triumph annual today, from 1937. I've been looking for them for years and only managed to get the 1939 one previously. They hardly ever come up for sale anywhere. There's only 5 in the set, and the 1940 one seems to be so scarce that we haven't got a picture of the cover in our gallery. I've seen the cover on the back of a Triumph comic, just a small black and white picture. Never seen one in colour.
