Just a bit of fun.
Obviously there are lots of gems as free gifts from old comics that we can get via auction/comic shops/ebay but this poll is about seeing a new publication come out in your youth and loving the first issue free gift !!

What about the tv studio free gift in Look in or fireball xl5 model in TV21, or even the model kits and commando comics free with Victor comic, there was some great and not so great free gifts in the comics during the 60s and 70s . The comics on sale most seem to be a Toy with a sort of comic almost as the free gift.

Great points raised Captain but please forgive me,I was doing a poll of first issues only and those that were in my lifetime that I got.
So that's why I didn't include any of your excellent suggestions.
If this was simply a best free gifts of all time poll then of course I would have had the Fireball XL5 model etc etc.
And you make a great point:Todays comics do seem to be based on the gift and the comic is the actual free thing.
I believe comics nowadays are aimed at a much younger audience than when we were kids.
Frankly,if I was a 10 yr old today then I would never get into comics.
It seems to me that the format which started in the 19th century died at some point in the start of the 21st century.
But on a positive note,I believe we should remember and celebrate the years in which it existed.

Agree with your point of view. The mindset of reading and publishing has changed a lot over time and after the advent of the internet and its platforms.

Lol I will be completely honest Sid, I can't remember what I voted for or if I voted !!!
Personally I did love the 2000AD space spinner but also loved the Future Tense spaceship, the X Wing from StarWars 1, the Look in bionic eye, the Hotspur planes, frankly I just sort of loved it all !!!
