Disclaimer:Before posting I must agree that the "Look in Wiki" gets' this correct and unlike many other strips covered there,is complete and accurate.
I would (just being pedantic) simply add that the writer in said wiki creates story titles as they were not printed in Look-in for this strip (or any that I can recall).
It would be more informative to use the titles of the original strips as both were reproduced in an edited form from Gold Key issues 5 and 6 respectively.
1971 (20 - 27)
Republished edited version of Gold Key's Voyage comic, issue 5,"The Great Undersea Safari"
A safari hunter,Sir Ellery Barret, wants revenge on Admiral Nelson.
1971 (32 -36)
Republished edited version of Gold Keys' Voyage comic, issue 6,"The Overground Trail"
Bizzare story with art criminals,a replica seaview sub and literally moving submarine over ground.

Re: Voyage to the bottom of the sea
The feature and strips details there are accurate because I researched & wrote them (I'm credited for the feature). Originally they were for john stewarts' 'Look-Out' before he proved himself untrustworthy, and started altering my contributions. Usually with inaccuracies.jim244 wrote: 21 Oct 2023, 07:48 Disclaimer:Before posting I must agree that the "Look in Wiki" gets' this correct and unlike many other strips covered there,is complete and accurate.
I also wouldn't have 'made up' the titles of the strips in the chronology - if I had used any titles, it would have been those of the original Gold Key comics: #5 The Great Undersea Safari & #6 The Overland Trail.

The article itself is brilliant and I know that you wrote it and thank you for it.ShaquiUK wrote: 07 Apr 2026, 11:06The feature and strips details there are accurate because I researched & wrote them (I'm credited for the feature). HOWEVER the Chronology attached uses the titles "Revenge is a Dish" and "The Decoy" and obviously was not written by yourself and it is that that I am referring to.
Re: Voyage to the bottom of the sea
In reflection, I should have stated initially that the chronology and article were both written by different writers, however, to be fair to myself, I didn't know that at the time, although it is obvious in retrospect.
I therefore apologise for not stating such initially.
I was a member of some VERY EARLY LOOK-IN FORUMS and knew your name from such but didn't know who you were until more recent years.
Very interesting about what you say about John....
Know the name from forums, don't know the man.
All Love
Ian

Re: Voyage to the bottom of the sea
No apology really necessary. When I parted ways with john, he said he would take down all my material (and I think he did for some) as I was being 'precious'. But I said leave them up - they're accurately researched & it's better to have correct information on the internet than not.jim244 wrote: 08 Apr 2026, 23:10 In reflection, I should have stated initially that the chronology and article were both written by different writers, however, to be fair to myself, I didn't know that at the time, although it is obvious in retrospect.

I don't know if he is behind the Look-in Wiki or not but at least my features, and those of my friend and associate Kim Stevens (they also do diligent research, such as for Mark Strong and On The Buses) are correctly credited.
If we wrote features, we most likely provided the chronologies that went with them, although - as seen - john added inane 'made up' story titles.
Addenda: Kim did write a chronology for On The Buses, which seems absent from the Look-in Wiki - I have the document here. I don't know if it never went up, as there are a few gaps (we didn't like those but you can tell john's as he often had them!) or it was one of those taken down...

Re: Voyage to the bottom of the sea
Addenda on Chronology...
I found my document for this, so the text for the synopsis and other details are mine.
Chronology
Story One
22/05/71 - No.20 to 10/07/71 - No.27
Eccentric hunter Sir Ellery Barrett was branded a coward by Harriman Nelson while on safari three years ago, but now wants to take his revenge on the Admiral and 'Seaview'...
Note: Abridged from issue 5 of the Gold Key 'Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea' comic
Artist: Alberto Giolitti
Story Two
14/08/71 - No.32 to 11/09/71 - No.36
Via a river from the sea, 'Seaview' investigates a fake mechanical sea monster at Ktimba Lake, and becomes trapped when its route is deliberately blocked. It is all part of a plan by a crime organisation to prevent 'Seaview' escorting a freighter carrying a hundred million dollars of art for the World's Fair, using their own replica of the sub to steal the shipment...
Note: Abridged from issue 6 of the Gold Key 'Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea' comic
Artist: Alberto Giolitti
But as usual with john's 'interpretation' of the chronologies, my contribution to it went uncredited

I THOUGHT I once read a chronology for ON THE BUSES there and imagined I had dreamt it as couldn't find it again.ShaquiUK wrote: 09 Apr 2026, 06:22No apology really necessary. Either way: I am SLOWLY (just been so busy) doing a chronology of the ON THE BUSES strips here.

As said, it may have been up somewhere originally & taken down.jim244 wrote: 12 Apr 2026, 06:01 I THOUGHT I once read a chronology for ON THE BUSES there and imagined I had dreamt it as couldn't find it again.

I asked for an email in the Voyage thread to send you pics. If you want, I'll send what there is of Kim Stevens' chronology for you to add to, etc. Then you can post it here with our blessings.

Thank you, really kind of you both.
