Picked up this the other day, has some great mean and moody stories in.
Steel Claw, The Spider and lots more well worth the £2.85p I paid for it.
Are they original stories or old?

Re: 2000AD Action Special
Before I bought it I thought it was the Steelclaw when they dressed him up into a super hero suit, But it's not.
Re: 2000AD Action Special
Yeah, new stuff - produced back when 2000AD thought they had the rights to the characters but, er, didn't.
Personally, while interesting, reckon they lost sight of the appeal of the characters in the first place

Well, I'd agree with that, in so much that if you're looking for non-threatening boys adventure and humour, you'll be disappointed but the stories themselves are great comic noir.
Re: 2000AD Action Special
You know, looking at this I remembered some early 2000AD specials from 1977 and on. I 've never read them and I was wondering, are the stories in them originals or reprints from the 2000AD magazine? I have most Annuals and they containe great new stories, but what about the Sci-fi Specials? Since I 'm not British, I 'd appreciate your help...

Pretty much all original stories in the Specials. The first 2000AD Special was the Supercomic. Recommended for any 2000AD fan.
Re: 2000AD Action Special
Got them all (including the Action Special) and they are all brilliant.

Re: 2000AD Action Special
The specials were all-new material, but the first couple of 2000AD Annuals contained a lot of reprints from other comics long gone, and later ones frequently contained some reprints from 2000AD itself as well as new stuff. The early annuals reprinted non 2000AD stories like The Guinea Pig because 2000AD itself was fairly new and IPC's policy was no reprinting material less than five years old so they had to find material elsewhere to fill up the pages.ramirez wrote:You know, looking at this I remembered some early 2000AD specials from 1977 and on.
