Never end a sentence with a preposition. It should be "In which comic did this advert appear?" (I love pedantry).

I'd say 2000AD as it looks glossy. Plus there were no other IPC comics around at that time were there? Do I get a no-prize?

I'd say Whizzer and Chips, but I don't remember seeing it - Buster switched to full colour first before Whizzer and Chips switched and shrank.

2000AD wouldn't have been glossy at the time.

Nope.

It is a comic but not what you might call a comic as we knew them although you could buy it in a Newsagent.

Not the Mail on Sunday's comic supplement or The Funday Times; something like that?

EDIT: Actually, just noticed that Peter suggested a Sunday paper, so it's probably not in that direction.

It could have been advertised in more than one place. It's glossy so it could be the back page or inside back/front of one of the "Best of" or compilation comics (Big Comic, or Funny Fortnightly) at a guess.

I can't be bothered going through my collection to find out exactly :)

Yeah, I'd say Big Comic Fortnightly Number 48 - and if I remember rightly it came with Part 2 of a Mini Comic......
