Eric Roberts strip - little known?

This is from Dandy 938 dated 14/11/1959. An Eric Roberts strip you don't hear much about (I'd forgotten it existed). First episode too so very handy. Just like the carts we used to build in the 1960s.

Remake of a text story, an example of which appears in Great Stories from the First Fifty Years, one of the Dandy-Beano Golden Years books.

Don't you think Ginger looks like Winker Watson's pal Tim Trott? No surprise, since Winker is also an Eric Roberts strip.

To be honest Steve I think most of Eric Roberts' output could be described as 'little
known' once you get much beyond Winker Watson, Dirty Dick and Mike. After all who really remembers strips like Willie's Whizzer Broom, Rip Snorter and Mo, Joe and
Daddy-O for example.

I think When Roberts first Drew Dirty Dick he looked a lot like Winker. As a matter of fact, on the inside front cover for one of the 60 years books, it shows pictures of the characters from the 1960's, and one of them is supposed to be Winker Watson, but turned out to be Dirty dick instead!

I think by 1965 He changed Dirty Dick a bit to make him look a bit more different.
