Ken Reid's strips between 1969 and 1973

Not sure if these fall into the dates your are looking for but Ken Reid also drew Ali Ha Ha (in the Dandy... I think) as well as Jasper the Grasper in WHAM! (think this was mid sixties though ) - he also did ,for Monster Fun, (later reprinted in various books ) Martha's Monster Make up and Tom Horrors World - I have a page of his art on a strip called Robot Smith (only one I have seen so not sure if this was a fill in or a regular strip).

Frank McDiarmid also (indirectly) replaced Ken Reid on Roger the Dodger. Ken drew it in the 1950s and 1962-64ish, when he left DCT and Robert Nixon took over. In 1973, when he went to IPC, Tom Lavery came in before Frank took over a few years later (1976?). His version of Roger brought back some of the madness from the Reid original, although Nixon's version remains my favourite (though Ken's were great as well).

Jimmy Jinks has a great horror about it...a kid being dragged along by the bus and they ask it to go quicker..a bit Jonahish...never seen these two strips before have to get buying Scorcher..

"K-P" excellent thank you so much for showing these - I have never seen Triptoe Triers (can you tell me roughly what issues that appeared in ) its a strip I've been trying to track down for years - Ditto Harry Hammertoe as I've only seen that in a Scorcher annual - the title illo of Harry Hammertoe looks like the work of Reg Parlett. Peter, Football Forum included some of Ken Reids best artwork (IMHO) really cool stuff ( not all of them but a lot were really something) SUB was just brilliant it was the only reasonI bought Scorsher when it came out then I got the rest for the subsequent Ken Reid strips that appeared after that.

STARBOY, Kashgar did an excellent detailed account about Reid's football strips in Scorcher during 1970-1974, you can find it in this very post, just see earlier contributions. Mind that the account has one typing error: Harry Hammertoe ended in issue dated 18/8/73 and Jimmy Jinks began in the issue of 25/8/73 (the account says October).
