Ive finally got round to reading the beanos 70 yrs of fun and on the last page it shows a few pics of their printing works in manchester and that they printed the beano there i always thought that the beano and dandy were printed in dundee so presume that they also printed the dandy there too dose anyone know when the plant closed down and how long the beano was printed there and did they also print the annuals in manchester as well

As far as I know they've been in Manchester since 1913 and are still printing here. I'd also love to know whether the annuals also came from the same presses.

Thomsons sold the printing works in Manchester around twenty years. They still have a Circulation Office there I think. As far as I know, the Annuals have always been printed in the West Ward printing works in Dundee.

Thanks for the info i always thought that thomsons would have printed the annuals at their dundee plant

Those pics of Manchester were from the 1960s.

Back in the day Thomsons printed comics in both Manchester and Glasgow.
