I don't know how to put a link here but if you just google Ken's Paper Collectables it will be the first option.

Just looked again and he has a couple of hundred Sexton Blake Libraries too.

His list may be out of date but he should have some left if not all.

Ken appears at the London Postcard, Ephemera and Movie fairs. The next postcard fair is this Sunday 21st at the Royal National Hotel, Bloomsbury. Not just postcards though as there is a sort of Ephemera fair attached across the courtyard. I'll probably show my face.

its got a spine..coming off a bit.a signed book..
should get it in the next couple of days..

The Dandy was great all throughout the 60's..70's..early 80's..

Went to Greenwich today and picked up a bound volume of The Boys Own Paper for £8. What made it worth buying was that it contained issues 1-37 from 1879. I am debating with myself whether or not I should remove the individual issues (I already have a hundred or so disbound copies from the 1800s) as I prefer them as individual magazines. The binding is quite loose anyway. What thinkest thou?

They also had a nice copy of the Eagle annual from 1966 but I passed it up. Had a nice Heros the Spartan in full colour by Frank Bellamy - would that have been a reprint? It would have been published in September 1965 which is around the time he started drawing Thunderbirds in TV21 so may have been original work.

Being bound does seem to preserve invididual issues a lot better, i'd not only be keeping them together, i'd be looking into ways to strengthen the binding. Of course issue 1 of anything can fetch a high price if in good condition, which that one looks to be... so if you're in it for the money you could de-bind and bag that one (though i wouldn't).

Oh yeah, and...
Century 21 volume 2 - found in a new charity shop for ₤5, for some reason i haven't got the first one yet! This will be corrected as soon as possible, it's great! This one also contains the "black leaves with eyes" story that was discussed on these boards recently... very chilling, especially the film that comes to life! Just like the 2000AD story "Chairoscuro". The presence of celluloid film on a 21st century star ship takes a bit more explaining, mind you. Maybe those cosmic rays erase digital data?
Roy of the Rovers annual 1990 - Only one Roy story in it! Also there's seemingly a player called Pak Soon... a Korean?

I thought I'd take the individual issues out of the binding, put them in bags and then put them back between the covers (which has a contents list). Thereby getting the best of both worlds. Got the first half out ok but the last half are really well bound in. Razor blade at work. I picked up a load of disbound Boys Owns from the same shop a few years back and remember they included issue no.2 and other early numbers. I searched for the first issue but with no luck. Looks like i finally hit paydirt.

I've got hold of a clutch of Hotspurs from early 1979 because Kashgar intrigued me with his mention of the serial 'The Island of Terros' in which a group of shipwrecked schoolboys find themselves washed up on an island inhabited by the Greek gods. The artwork looks a little crude and unappealing to me, alas, at first glance, but I look forward to reading it.

The strip that immediately stands out as having best artwork and seeming the most intriguing though, from a few flips through, is 'The Ten Symbols of Buddha.' This looks like it might be good.

Its Victor actually but you obviously know that as you've got them. Sorry that the artwork of C D Bagnall doesn't appeal. He did an awful lot of stuff for Victor though from the mid 1960's to the 1980's. 'The Ten Symbols of Buddha' is the work of Geoffrey Whittam who did a bit of adventure strip work for comics but was mostly employed as a book illustrator.

Yes, C. D. Bagnall's artwork isn't really to my taste (though I may well enjoy the story), but I do like Geoffrey Whittam's. It's really quite atmospheric. If there's anything else drawn by him from around that era that you especially recommend, I'd be interested to hear. Thanks for putting names to the artists.

I find many of these really Ye Olde things you pick up fascinating, Mr. Zodiac - many of them are very much of interest.

I've seen a few of those Thirties cinema weeklies around but never any without *really* ultra-rusted staples so I haven't picked any up. But I'd be interested to know the kind of differences between the films covered in the Boys and Girls 1930s cinema weeklies. They don't tend to cover children's-type films, do they, as I recall?

Also, Merry Moments doesn't ring a bell. Anything good in that in the humour and adventure lines?

Is Answers a general knowledge publication?
