Book Bargains

Post by Gary »

Been in 'The Works' at Meadowhall shopping centre (near Sheffield) today and they had 'Football's Comic Heroes' and 'When the Comics went to War' @ £4.99 each.

They also had the hardcover 'Bumper Book of Roy of the Rovers' @ £3.99 and softcover 'The Best of Roy of the Rovers' (I think this was also £3.99).

They had quite a few copies of all the titles.

I assume that other branches of 'The Works' will be stocking them too. Worth checking out.

£4.99? Dear me. They are worth that for the pictures alone.

That deep discounting is not allowed under the terms of the contract with the publisher.

It will be an interesting telephone call on Monday morning.

Interesting! I also saw substantial piles of both titles for sale at that price last week.

At the same time my local Poundland had copies of The Best of Boyfriend, The Best of June & School Friend and The Best of Look In for just £1 each...!

My local Poundland still has lots of copies of the 2010 Dennis and Gnasher annual. £1 of course.
