It's a red card for ITV1HD - they missed England's goal. That's not the first time they've done that. It's happened on ITV1 SD in an FA Cup match and a F1 race as well.

Re: THE 2010 WORLD CUP THREAD
Funnily enough, I was watching the qualifying for the F1 Canadian Grand Prix when, after the race I switched over to ITV which was showing Steven Gerrard celebrating his goal! I must have changed over at the exact time it switched back to the match.
It's a bit different in football compared to F1, in football even ITV never normally put adverts on during the match, but when ITV showed F1 they always put adverts on during the race which was really annoying and often meant missing exciting action - I presume the one Digi is talking about is the 2007 Brazilian Grand Prix where ITV missed Lewis Hamilton's car going into neutral for 30 seconds that ultimately cost him the world title that year. They also missed a chunk of the fantastic battle between Alonso and Schumacher at the 2005 San Marino Grand Prix.
I'm glad F1's on the BBC now! There are other reasons, the beeb's pre-qualifying/pre-race coverage is much better than ITV's - who featured Cooking tips from Heikki Kovalainen and making cocktails with Jenson Button, plus Eddie Jordan and David Coulthard are much better than Mark 'Yes Steve, this is a race what Lewis can win' Blundell.
I really should stop talking about F1 though, this is the World Cup thread after all!

Re: THE 2010 WORLD CUP THREAD
It's the 2005 GP I was referring to, as shown in the second link, which I've corrected. I could've sworn I copied the link, how I didn't notice it was still the first one when I pasted it I don't know!
And the missed goal error this time only affected ITV1HD, if you was watching regular ITV1, you only missed the goal by switching channels too late.

Just not saying a word... *snigger*
I started to say something sensible but my parents took over my brain!
Re: THE 2010 WORLD CUP THREAD
I have to turn the sound down when I watch the matches those Hooters are driving me crazy, it's spoilt it you can't hear the supporters cheering.
Re: THE 2010 WORLD CUP THREAD
They're not as annoying (or funny) as the cries of "U.S.A - U.S.A" in Scottish accents that were ringing out through Glasgow on Saturday night (I'm hoarse lol). I Just watched the Algeria game and it's pretty certain England will qualify at a canter and get into the last 8 (I can't see Ghana causing you any probs - be good idea for you to avoid Germany though).Im telling you this is tyhe year you'll get to semis and from there on in its up to the team.

Re: THE 2010 WORLD CUP THREAD
It came as a shock to find England had appointed Sylvester Stallone as goalkeeping coach! Who’s laughing at Escape to Victory now?
Re: THE 2010 WORLD CUP THREAD
Not World Cup related, but this is football related: I just read on Digital Spy that Paul Gasgoine's been in a car crash!
Re: THE 2010 WORLD CUP THREAD
As long as Andy Murray doesn't win Wimbledon I will be happy.
Not that he ever will of course.
Shurley it should be Paul Gascogne drunk.

Re: THE 2010 WORLD CUP THREAD
I was in one once. I was going out with a former Miss Liverpool at the time but, although she was driving it wasn't her fault. It was on one of those unmarked crossroads off Huskisson Street near the Rialto, for those of you who know the area. We bashed straight into the side of a speeding car crossing at right angles to us. We decided they must have been joyriders, seeing that the passengers who exited and scampered away in all directions could well have been the entire population of a small Indian township. I got away with just friction burns to the knees of my trousers. What a night that was!Digifiend wrote:Paul Gasgoine's been in a car crash!
