Weirdly he himself had drawn the cover illustration for the Jumping Frog free gift given away with New Hotspur No1 in Oct 1959.

There was also the occasion where the vocal group attended a pot party at which they were required to provide their own smoking paraphernalia, and they performed a well known Goon Show classic -

Gosh! - with a record like that it's amazing he isn't better known today; I guess it shows just how much difference it can make when an artist becomes associated with a really famous, long-running character. Going by his illustration of the London Underground I'd have loved to have seen his version of something like 'The Heroes of Paradise Road'. It's a shame that the Dandy's move away from semi-serious features during the 1960s meant that his style no longer fitted there.

Yes and I noticed the Thor story didn't feature Thor. Is he spending two weeks in Margate? Loki was the lead. I keep meaning to but Marvel Legends but have been waiting till all the stories get to part one. I suppose this month's is the nearest i'll get with the cap story being a part one. (He's my favourite Marvel character) and Ross's artwork is very tempting.
