Which artists do you wish had been in your favourite comics?

Whilst reading some old Tammys and coming across some brilliant Casanovas artwork, I realised his work never featured in Misty.

It seems to have been the same with a few other artists - I only remember seeing Phil Gascoine and Philip Townsend artwork in June and then Jinty (and later on Tammy after the Jinty merger), but not really in any D C Thomson girl's comics I can think of. Trini seemed to appear a lot in June and then Jinty (I'm sure that Jinty was actually June reincarnated, but with a more "up - to - date" feel), but not in Sally or Sandie for example. I love the work of these artists and it would have been interesting to see them illustrating a Misty story.

What do other people think?

Oddly enough Phil Gascoine was drawing for DC Thomson's last surviving girls' comic Wendy (even though it wasn't sold in the UK!) right up until his death in 2007:

I have never seen an issue of Wendy, a comic that has been mentioned from time to time on this forum. Can anybody tell me which European countries it was sold in, and where we might look for back numbers? Is it still being produced?

I don't know if it's still being produced, but I think it was sold in Germany and I have seen copies on the German ebay site. It seems to be based on horse riding stories.

A friend of mine lived in Germany for a year and I kept telling her to get one, but she always forgot. Mind you I was in Germany myself for a few hours last year and could have got it myself at a shop in the airport, cursesss

I have sme Wendy comics. And Vanessa, from Germany too, some kind of mystery. The goirl is very imilar to Mysty but not her at all. Will can ome pages tomorrow.
By the way, I was with Trini Tinturé last Friday. She's in grear spirits and working very hard for the Dutch market.

Phoenix try google lanuage tool, alhough it doesn't always translate very well but you can get the idea of the story.

It looks like it's quite a good adventure comic.
Anyone going to Germany? can you get me a copy.
