In the days when we could have radios in the office, we had regular polls. Each time, everyone would say what station they really wanted, and each time Radio 1 got the largest number of votes. Lots of people were unhappy, because more than half of the people in the office didn't want to listen to Radio 1.
Canny Andy organised the next poll. I asked everyone to choose between the known top two stations (Radio 1 and Cool FM, a local commercial station). Given the choice, Cool FM got the clear majority - everyone was rather less unhappy with Cool FM than Radio 1. Tactical voting!
