That's true. It has Korky riding an inflatable. Will provide a scan when I dig it out and have time.Shiner wrote:.... & there really is a 1964 Dandy Summer Special too!

Too high for me. I'd like it though because that was quite significant to me as a child. It features a General Jumbo story where he gets his foot trapped between the points on a railway line, with a train approaching. I was five years old when I read it and it stuck in my mind so firmly I never played on railway lines! (Who says comics corrupt kids? )
Unfortunately I threw the comic away 40 years ago but if anyone has a photocopy of that particular strip I'd be happy to pay for it. (Not ?155 though!)

Still silly money for what is just a comic. While my wife would not berate me for spending that sort of money on comics, I would still expect to have several days if not weeks reading time out of that kind of splurge on comics!Shiner wrote:Final price ?332. Now as most people here will know, I love comics, but I could never justify to myself spending that sort of money on just one comic!
I started to say something sensible but my parents took over my brain!

It's all relative though. The buyer might be loaded, so ?300 to him might be like ?30 to the rest of us.colcool007 wrote: Now as most people here will know, I love comics, but I could never justify to myself spending that sort of money on just one comic!

BEANO SUMMER SPECIAL 1964 DOES EXIST!
Or even 30p if it was Jonathon Ross!
On the other hand, I hope it was him: at least it would be going to someone who genuinely appreciated it rather than some speculator who just saw it as an investment.
