Episode two of The Rainbow Orchid now has its French translation available. Click on the little French flag in the control panel to read it.

I know I am looking at the future here, but personally, I think your English edition of Rainbow Orchid will do very well. Just wondering if having a French Edition would something you like to see.

A French edition would be great (and Dutch, Spanish, Italian, Japanese..!), but just getting the English version out will be enough to start with. It's getting there.

More! More! More! I can't wait to see where this comic takes us. European style artwork with a few dashes of classic Brit adventure thrown in. Does it get any better? :)
I started to say something sensible but my parents took over my brain!

I have recorded a short (12 minute) audio message as a little thank you for all Rainbow Orchid readers.

You can listen to it here.

(received safe and sound colcool!)

January always seems to kick off with something nice for Rainbow Orchid. After being linked to by Warren Ellis yesterday, I've also just read the latest Fool Britannia column to see Rainbow Orchid has been honoured as joint winner Fool Britannia Webcomic of the Year 2006 (with Gun Street Girl).

Jubbles.

Some RO press releasage, if you'll indulge me :-)

The full web version of my comic strip, The Rainbow Orchid, is going to remain online for just one more week!

Book publication of volume one is set for 4 August 2009, so after the bank holiday weekend (Tuesday 5 May) the online strip will become a preview, with certain sections removed and the full story available in print only.

You can start reading The Rainbow Orchid here:

More information:

The Rainbow Orchid is being published in three volumes by Egmont UK. It is a mystery adventure set in the 1920s, partly inspired by the works of writers such as H. Rider Haggard, Jules Verne and Arthur Conan Doyle mixed up with a very British version of the Franco-Belgian ligne claire school of graphic storytelling, luminaries of which include Hergé, Edgar P. Jacobs, Yves Chaland, Floc'h and Joost Swarte to name just a handful.

Bryan Talbot (Grandville, Alice in Sunderland, The Tale of One Bad Rat etc.) kindly said:

"Tightly-plotted, well-researched and beautifully drawn, this book is a real delight. Garen Ewing's mix of engaging characters, exciting old-school adventure, attractive ligne claire artwork and fluid storytelling makes The Rainbow Orchid easily one of the best graphic novels of the year."

Thanks, best wishes - Garen
