If I had to pick a favourite from your drawing I'd probably go for Mr. Meecher as he's so in character, but I also thought your Postman Prat was a great likeness.

Wow Harry, just saw the comments you got when you posted it on the Dandy's Facebook page. All the artists whose characters you drew seemed to love it! We've seen your name in the Beano as a writer, how long before you end up in one of those two as an artist? Seriously, it looks like all the current artists would give you a glowing reference!

Poor Dragon, getting graffitied by Brian Damage. That's good artwork, the majority of the characters look exactly like they do in the comic.

Ha ha! I had to do Brian being a right vandal as usual - and Dragon was just the right size...
Thank you! I used the comics I brought with me for references - I think I did a fairly decent job at copying their styles! (Not keen on my attempts at Little Dermot O'Leary, Harry Hill, Jibber and Korky though...)

Wow, thank you! Quite pleased with Mr Meecher and Postman Prat - although my favourites are Frosty, Count Slugula, Dad from My Freaky Family, Fred and Sid from Watch this Space, Brian Damage and Genie.

seeing some of us are digging up our cartoon past, here's some cartoon strips I done for D C Thomson, back in late 1987:

I went to the Pop Up Festival in King's Cross today and spent the day surrounded by successful and talented artists who were never short of inspiration, which was a bit intimidating to someone with zero drawing ability and who has original ideas approximately once every six months. But I tried very hard (well, OK, I didn't) and eventually this popped out.

The final panels were literally scribbled down in the last couple of minutes before closing time and the whole was finished within less than an hour, so if it seems rushed and ill-thought-through, that's because it is.

Yes, it was.

I was more or less making the script up as I went along, and I didn't have time to make any revisions, hence a number of lines and details I'd change if I were to redo the whole thing from scratch.
