Sheldon Moldoff 1920-2012, RIP

The American comic artist Sheldon Moldoff, who worked on Hawkman in the Golden Age as well as later creating characters such as Mr Freeze, Poison Ivy and the original Bat-Girl while working as one of Bob Kane's ghost artists on Batman, has died aged 91. His first published comics work was actually a one page filler in Action Comics #1 back in 1938!

Yes, just found out in the obituary section on digitalcomicmuseum. I'm a big fan of his Hawkman. Very sad.

Another Legend of comics passes away , thats 2 this month (John Severin being the other) we're losing all the true "giants". I loved his golden age Hawkman strips ( think he had a hand in BatMite also, but I'll forgive him for that)

...Aw, Bat-Mite was great! (I even liked Quisp!) - I really wish DC had accepted Hunt Emerson's proposal for a Bat-Mite mini series.

So long Shelly. You might not have been the best comic artist artist around but you sure left some good memories...!

Oh wow now a Hunt Emerson Bat Mite strip, that would be something to behold - I wasn't aware that Hunt had put forward that idea (wow again!!).

There does appear to be an obituary section although I had to search for it. Perhaps we should all be using the "Some comic creator obits" section.
I'm sure it is not beyond the abilities of moderators to move items and make reference to where they have gone.
As a Hawkman fan and therefore interested in the work of Mr. Moldoff, I would prefer that the concerns of where to put the notice of his death be taken up with the administrators in some other way, perhaps by a p.m., and leave discussion of his career and death (and this refers to any other appropriate obituaries) to be noted with respect and lack of distractions.
Couldn't figure out how to explain this without, perhaps, annoying anyone.
