I thought it was Button Moon when I first saw it but I have no idea when Button Moon was on the shelves.

The latest trend in reality TV seems to be programmes about people who hoard stuff. I've watched a couple of such shows in the hope of seeing someone whose home is crammed from floor to ceiling with comics, but no luck so far.

However, this week's episode of The Hoarder Next Door on Channel 4 featured a scene showing the 1976 Dennis The Menace book.

James May's 20th Century had a 2006 Beano annual in it - the episode about the teenagers stuff.

Also the name has escaped me but there was a 60's or 70's Buster in a comic in a program about a policeman who had gone back in time and was stuck there.

Sounds like the excellent Life On Mars where Sam Tyler gets hit by a car and wakes up in 1973 and try's to get back to the present day.

The show was set in 1973, so hopefully the propmasters used an issue from that year. I'm pretty sure that it's not the only comic seen in Life on Mars. In one episode, IIRC, he walks past a newspaper stand which also sells comics; in another, a comic can be seen in his childhood bedroom.

Gary Sparrow and his Blitz and Pieces shop. The comics, along with all the other stock, was obtained from the past (maybe he stole them from shops he knew were about to be destroyed?)

Don't think this has been mentioned - the 1989 film Shirley Valentine has Shirley's (grown up!) daughter reading 1977 Beano annual. Unfortunately I don't have a screenshot.

This somewhat bedraggled copy of the 1975 Beano Book, languishing among the piles of detritus in an unfortunate hoarder's front garden, was seen on BBC 1's Britain's Biggest Hoarders.

It's at some point between 1993 and 1998, judging by the masthead (before 93 the shadow was in the opposite direction, and in 98 the logo changed a bit).
