And how much did you get that for? :D
£4.99 I assume. He's talking about the Beano Ultimate Summer Special #2, which is currently out exclusively in WHSmith. WHSmith doesn't operate in Northern Ireland high streets (they only have three airport branches), so Andy couldn't get it at home and had to wait until he was on holiday. Did you think he meant a 1960s summer special?

Went to a car boot fair this morning and got 6 annuals for a tenner. 4 Wham! annuals (68,69,70 and 72) and 2 Beezers (undated, but when i got them home i found out they were 1958, the first Beezer annual, and 1962).

All a little battered (paticularly the Beezers) but still in a very readable condition. These will be my first taste of Wham!, so it'll be interesting to see what it's like.

I did! I'd like to get a copy of the Ultimate special though, is there anywhere online I can buy it - since there isn't a WHSmiths down under!

Write to WH Smiths' main office to ask them how much you would need to add to the £4.99 to cover their postage costs. You might even be lucky and get a freebie. Alternatively, you could wait until it appears on eBay. One dealer is currently offering five mint copies of issue 1 for sale at £4.99 plus p&p. I assume that came out last year.

That's how I got my copy of Volume 1 (and it's how I'll end up getting volume 2) :)

In Australia, we do have W. H. Smith stores, but they are mainly in the international airport terminals, and in Melbourne at Southern Cross railway station, but even then, they don't seem to stock the Beano or the Dandy at the Southern Cross store. :(

Your comment, blaing, is not really helpful to George because, by using the word That, you are not making it clear which of the two possible methods I suggested was the one you used.

I should elaborate. I ended up getiing volume 1 through eBay, and if volume 2 turns up there, I'll get it then.

Wow! Thanks for all the response! I'll write to WHSmith to see if I can get one sent over, but if not I'll have to wait for one to come up on ebay! :)

£4.99 in WHSmith. The toothbrush was £3.05.

On Monday I topped that off with Sparky Book 1976 and Whizzer and Chips Annual 1977 for £5 each in the book shop in Moffat. I survived Wigtown yesterday without buying any more books.

Just got four issues of 'Smash!' from 1969 through the post. Not great condition, but complete and clean, and there's some great stuff in them!

Well done Tony! I presume you mean the `new` Smash` that ran to May 1971.

He could mean either, since 1969 was the relaunch year.
