Also Billy Whizz is absent this week.
Apart from a cameo in Minnie, alongside a now outdated Fred - hard luck Nigel! Anyway, Golden Ticket finishes this week, so normal service should be resumed next week. Fred's Facts is probably gone though, since the new art style makes all the stock art obsolete.

Oh, and I would've said Dennis's Mum looks just like Fred's now, but of course, she'll have had a makeover too!

On the subject of changing Roger and Dennis' parents. I think it is a good idea as it takes away some of the anachronisms (Parents with moustaches) in the Beano which put off new readers. Im suprised they dont do the same with Teacher but then his appearance is more iconic then that of Dennis and Roger's parents.
Not too keen on Dennis's father's new look. His head looks pretty big now. Wonder if the "hair" is a wig? Though Dad was orginally obese back in the 1950s.

I suppose having the moustache removed is a good idea. As for Roger's Dad, Is grey hair a matter for it to be changed into a near clone of his son.

I wonder how long will both the parents new looks last. Minnie the Minx's parents had the same thing not long back and were soon reverted to how they were before.

It wouldn't surprise me if Minnie's dad were next, but at the same time, I wouldn't assume. If Ken isn't keeping up as well as he would like, then it may be safer to leave that strip alone in case they need emergency reprints.

I think we can treat Tom Paterson turning Minnie's parents into Sweeny Toddler's parents as an aberration.

Dennis's parents' new look could end up overridden by the next cartoon series - I wonder if Red Kite are aware of the redesigns?

That's an interesting discussion. Either the look and feel of the Beano Dennis is breaking away from the cartoon series, or the cartoon series Dennis has had a massive rethink about looks, themes etc.

I hope it's the cartoon moving towards the Beano comic.

The Dandy already had a time traveller (Nuke Noodle).

Fred's Bed artwork is most certainly by the new artist of Wallace and Gromit in The BeanoMAX - which is a shame as I loved Nigel's Fred's Bed and this new one looks pretty bad. (no offence to the artist of the new one) :(

I have absolutely no idea but I'm really not keen on it.

I really like the new Fred's Bed - not as much as Tom's, obviously, but it's better than I thought it would be. The tiger's face made me laugh a lot.

And no issue number again! Which one's this?

This week's was the last Golden Ticket issue, so I'm hoping they'll modify the cover design slightly next week to include the issue number. They'll have noticed the outcry (there were complaints on Facebook too), and since this week's issue acknowledges Jessica Ennis's heptathlon gold medal, 3650 (next week's issue) cannot have gone to press before 3647 was released and the complaints started. It's easy to fix, they could just bring back those "Boost your comic collection" badges, last seen on issue 3571 in February 2011.
