I'm sure we've discussed this before but regarding Sparky, it was a matter of context that some of us found unsettling. Sparky himself was depicted as a gross caricature but all the white characters in the same strip were not. The white characters faces and bodies were drawn closer to realistic proportions.

It wouldn't have diminished the strip in any way if the white characters also had exaggerated features.

Plus Sparky was wearing a grass skirt - in contemporary 1965 Britain! I really don't recall any immigrants doing that.

I forgot to say `CONGRATULATIONS` to Blaing on reaching 600 `Sparky's` I find the 1966 and 1967 ones are rather scarce!

I still need three! I don't have issue No 68 dated 7th May 1966.

The other two are No 58, dated 26th February 1966, and No 94, dated 5th November 1966 - I `Do` have - but with pages missing!! No 58 has just 16 pages, and No 94 a mere 12 pages! So! for issues Nos 58, 68 and 94 I will pay very well! If anyone spots these anywhere please let me know- cheers!

Yes, those book-form reprints of some of the famous DCT story paper stories are incredibly rare, I think there's less than 20 known copies of the Wilson one still in existence

If it is, you can add another one to the known copies though I had no idea it was so rare.

Today I finally got around to buying this weeks Beano. It was good, but was a bit annoyed that some of the jokes were repeated in different sections.
Also, I have started bidding on some Roy of the Rovers comics from 1988. I personally, never liked it and was actually looking for 'The Rover Comic', but my brother used to be a fan and I thought it would make a nice late birthday present.

Yes, Nemo: Heart of Ice, from Gosh, where I was delighted to get it signed by Alan Moore and Kevin O'Neill. Also Jodorovsky and Moebius's The Incal and Madwoman of the Sacred Heart, which I want to get through before moving on to Nemo.

Yes, it was the November 2012 auction. Malcolm's claim of Rare, only eight copies are known to exist can only mean that he only knew of eight, hence his starting price of £550-650. I'm not saying that they are plentiful, but they are not that rare. Up here in the frozen north, we believe that the other three titles in the set are worth about £25 each, the Wilson title about double that. If anybody was tempted to pay £75 for it, I think they would need to be directed quickly towards some specialist help.

I was just doing a little Googling to try and find this book and came across an old topic on this site : http://comicsuk.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.p ... 89&start=0
So I can now see that the book is from about 1950/51 and that I got a very good deal on it, as I only paid just below £5 and it's in very good condition, apart from missing it's dust jacket.

£5 is a very reasonable price for the Morgyn in good condition. Dealers in bookfairs would have priced it up at £10-15. However, if there is a decent dustwrapper on it they would be looking for £50-100. The book is relatively common, the wrapper is rare.

Apologies if this is a bit `off-topic` but I won a picture sleeve copy of `Midnight Lady` By `Mott the Hoople` Island Records 1971. The picture sleeve shows `Pa` Bear - of Beano's `The Three Bears` clutching a Tomahawk!! What connection there is between Picture Sleeve and song title is - is beyond me!
