In tonight's London Evening Standard there is an interview with Zoom Rockman the 12 year old boy who produces his own comic The Zoom. If you google "Evening Standard" and choose Life & Style its the second item. I can't do links. Marc Almond is the first item if you'r a fan.

The Scottish Sun did a rather biased poll about British comic characters. But nine out of ten choices were DCT humour characters. The only one from another publisher, and the only adventure strip character, was Dan Dare. The winner was Dennis the Menace.

Today's papers mention the Daleks returning for the 50th anniversary episode of Doctor Who. Can anyone ease my fears that it isn't the awful new tellytubby version. The papers show the more sinister metallic versions but they are probably just library pics.

When the Daleks were last seen, in Asylum of the Daleks, the rainbow Daleks were distinctly in the minority. By a ratio of several thousand to one, as far as I could tell.

New pics, rumoured to be from the as-yet unseen Time War that's been mentioned since 2005. I understand Cybermen are also in it, although the paper hasn't mentioned that.

That's because only the Daleks and the Zygons are confirmed so far.

Those Dalek pictures seem to be on Gallifrey, and that probably means Time War. That makes it most likely that the classic Doctor is McGann.

Not sure where to post this query but as it is in the latest Alter Ego I chose this topic. It features an interview with Mel Keefer (who i'd never heard of before today) an American comic artist and this portion of the interview caught my eye. The checklist at the end of the interview says this:

OVERSEAS COMIC BOOK STORIES:
[Unknown Title] (D.C. Thomson) c.1965

I'm sure someone here can name the story and comic.

Don't know if anybody will be interested, but (as you're talking about Doctor Who) over on my blog ( http://kidr77.blogspot.com/2013/08/from ... le-of.html ) there's a 30 year old drawing of William Hartnell as the Doctor. Feel free to leave a comment, good, bad or indifferent. (Either here or on my blog. C'mon, don't be shy now.)
