I think it just goes to show how much someone will spend on something if they really want it, regardless of any objective measurement of "value".

Or that some people have more money than sense. Take your pick.
True. I sold a copy of Warlord #1 on ebay a while back for £63.00, and that was in pretty poor condition. When two bidders start competing, they can get carried away.

I didn't buy anything from Phils Auctions this month because, dare I say it?, their prices are curiously shifting higher and higher. I lost out on Scream issue 2 with free gift. It went for £31 in the end. I still can't fathom out how I managed to buy Bullet issue 1 with free gift from Phil for less than £60 last year. Had the auction been this year for that particular issue, I wouldn't have stood a chance, I'm quite sure of that :?

I went to a very large bootie this morning one stall had a large plastic box full of little star comics he was willing to take any offer, he was a dealer in old toys and told me he could not even give them away, I did think about giving him a quid for the lot but I would then be stuck with them. Also stalls had boxs of the glossy cover 2000 ad comics £10 a big box full again no body wanted them.

Don't you just hate it when a dealer at a car boot sale tells you they had three big boxes full of old British comics, but that somebody gave them fifty quid for the lot 'a couple of minutes ago'...??!!!

Funny you should say that Adam...! :)

Actually I overheard you talking about them to a dealer last week so I guessed it was you. What titles did you get? Going by the rest of his stock I thought they might have been from the 1980s, so definitely more your period than mine.

Do you still have those old Film Funs by the way?

Went to my first comics fair in three years today (due to having a Sunday off work, which was a nice change). Paid my £1 entry, went in, only to find all the dealers were packing up. Seems a nice sunny day like this will even keep comic-fans from staying indoors!

Hey Phil, I've only got one film fun issue left. Most of those comics are 80s, stuff like whoopee, whizzer and chips, but then some oddities like computer game ones "Load Runner" which I've never heard of before.

I saw them and thought I'd take a gamble on them?

A whole load of Judy (pretty sure it was Judy) from the Seventies/Eighties from a charity shop. Maybe about 30-50? Price: whatever you feel like it. I don't read much girls comics so decided to leave them for a fan. Hopefully a little girl.

There were also a number of other comics, such as Dandy, from the 70s/80s. Same deal. Some a little water-damaged. Others not.

I lost out today on a bundle of Sparkys, but on the upside, the bundle only had one issue I had wanted, but I would have another big bundle of duplicates. :(

Outbid at the last second (SNIPED!) on three eBay auctions within a couple of days, all from the same seller, which was a bit annoying. I know it comes with the field, but when it happens three times in a row it's hard not to get frustrated.

So two more issues of Blag, eight issues of Pulp and ten issues of Gas have escaped me this week, bah :(

I was at a bootie yesterday saw on stalls lots of manga style comics, piles of recent Beanos and a pile of asst 90s transformers comics, did see a very early Alan class comic but it was missing pages and a very torn and tatty cover , so I come away with no comics again , but on a good note my grand daughter good a big bag of new peppa pig goodies
