Lord Snooty returns
Now that the news has been revealed to subscribers I can tell you that the new mini-strip I'm doing for The Beano is a revival of Lord Snooty. Hope I do it justice.

Hope you guys can manage a cameo by Professor Screwtop, Lew!
Re: Lord Snooty returns
Old characters never truly die.
A shame Ivor Lott (or someone like him) cannot make an appearance in a competition to see who's poshest.
Well done Lew on the commission, hope you carry on with Rasher also.

Actually, Lew has said Rasher is ending but it may return somewhen.Muffy wrote:Old characters never truly die.

Yes Rasher ends in a few weeks time. There will be 4 mini strips featuring him in the Beano Annual this year though.BeanoMaster wrote:Actually, Lew has said Rasher is ending but it may return somewhen.Muffy wrote:Old characters never truly die.

Re: Lord Snooty returns
Congrats, Lew. Will be nice to see the posh one return. I've only started reading The Beano again since the 21st June.Lew Stringer wrote:Now that the news has been revealed to subscribers I can tell you that the new mini-strip I'm doing for The Beano is a revival of Lord Snooty. Will Lord Snooty the 3rd make an appearance or will he be consigned to limbo?
Re: Lord Snooty returns
My youngest nephew - who has just turned 9, loved Lord Snooty - he rates it 11/10! Though maths never was his strongest subject.
He's looking forward to more, though sorry to hear that Rasher is gone for the moment (he'll be getting the annual this year too and has aspirations to build up a collection to rival those in the Beano letters page).
Of course I'm his favourite auntie for getting him his weekly read.

Thanks Muffy. That's nice to hear. I'm currently drawing a Lord Snooty page for the 2016 annual.
BillyWhizzer, no plans to revive that incarnation of the character as far as I know.

Re: Lord Snooty returns
It looks really good, Lew. As other people have already said, it's good that older characters do make their comebacks.
Reading comics since 1970. My Current Regulars are: 2000 AD (1977-), Judge Dredd Megazine (1990-), Spaceship Away (2003-), Commando (2013-), Deadpool and Wolverine (2023-), Quantum (2023-), Fantastic Four (2025-).
Re: Lord Snooty returns
Are you writing it as well Lew? It'd be interesting to know how many people have drawn Snooty and co. over the years; I wouldn't think there've been that many, which puts you in some pretty august company - beginning with the great Dudley Watkins himself.

Yes, I'm doing scripts, art, and colouring, as I did with Rasher. (Although some early Rashers were scripted by staff writers.)
It is indeed quite a privilege to be doing Lord Snooty strips. Hope the readers enjoy them.

An awesome clarification, Phil.
