Having checked that site I think it was the 1939 facsimile I saw, and those prices! I feel gutted.

On the 2000ad forum it was mentioned that along with the BATTLE, WHIZZER and CHIPS ANNUAL there is a Roy of the Rovers annual for sale in Sainsburys. Did any of the forum members spot it?

The best of Roy of the Rovers seems to be an elusive book to track down in my neck of the woods as there are zero to be found

I started that thread and based it on what I found here. There was a post from someone who bought it on the Comics I Bought Today (or similar) thread. Try the search option for the name.

Got battle, Whizzer and chips and RoR in Sainsburys Airport Rd Befast. Im keeping them for Christmas but for those who are still searching, keeping looking they are a bargain at £3.99. Please note that the Beezer, Topper and Hotspur annuals which I had already got direct from DCT are not with the other annuals but in the humour section of the books and the Egmont annuals are in a different place again in the book chart section. As a result I nearly missed them as did the customer assistant too who initially told me they just had the DCT annuals so the advise is search well

It probably depends on the branch as to where they display them. My store had the Hotspur, Topper, and 70s Girls' ones in with the regular annuals in a couple of big red display boxes. (No sign of the others here yet, unless they're sold out.)

Today's Daily Express has a coupon giving you 50% off any annual at WH Smith. And another coupon allowing you to buy Marvel Hero Origins Story Collection for £5.00.

Noticed they have the Viz big book of adventure in WHSmiths at £10.99 I don't know whether anyone else has noticed it and although it is advertised in some places where it's sold as hardback I would call it more a bendy card.

Just managed to get both the best of Topper & Beezer Annuals from the Sainsbury's in Kempston Beds
But more importantly found out the Sainsbury's reference numbers for these books
The Best Of Topper is :7721909 and The Best of Beezer is :7721904 if you ring up your local Sainsbury's and ask them to enter this number into their system they can tell you what stores in your area have the books in stock .
Hope this helps with the hunt :)
p.s I have posted this on numerous threads as they all seem to cover these books

The best of Beezer, Topper, RoR, Whizzer and Chips etc are now marked down to £2.50 in Sainsburys. I already have them but I bought a few more for spares, at that price it would be rude not too
