Got the new TV21 along with the rest of the Supermarionation box thru the post. Great read, certainly reminds me of the sixties/early seventies.
Reading comics since 1970. My Current Regulars are: 2000 AD (1977-), Judge Dredd Megazine (1990-), Spaceship Away (2003-), Commando (2013-), Deadpool and Wolverine (2023-), Quantum (2023-), Fantastic Four (2025-).

Good man. It's a rare beast indeed, and only limited to 2,500 copies. It's just a pity it can't be made available outside of the box set.

Even more a pity that they didn't bring it back for a limited print run.

Not today, but arrived this week by post, a small pile of pocket libraries from 30th Century Comics. Early Thriller Picture Library issues:-
#s 66, 67, 72, 78, 86, 89, 191
Super Detective Library #s 58, 72, 95, 96, 99.
Wonderful stuff and a couple of them have Eric Parker art.
Also 3 of the current issues of Commando. I don't like war comics but certain folk on this site love them so I gave these a try. Also some of the art looked good. I read Royle's Marines and Night of Fear and thought the stories were same old, same old and simply versions of ideas that have been around for ever. Some decent action scenes, though. I started Saxon Eagles but, despite the art, didn't finish it. They just don't appeal. Charity shop for them.

Commando pocket library has been going for a long time so there is either a huge following I dont know what sort of sales figures they have (although I've had no particular interest in them) or they are fairly cheap to produce and generate a profit with fewer needing to be sold. It's probably the pocket formula I'm not too keen on and apologies to ardent fans of them if I make these comments without having read too many of them.

As you would be a disinterested customer when you take them to the charity shop, Paw, perhaps you could advise them as to what asking price they should put on them.

I used to be a regular buyer of Commando a few years ago as I have certain genre likes, e.g. historical, submarine, desert. I've noticed over the last few years, they stayed away from anything much outside standard WW2 (occasionally WW1) infantry and planes. That really doesn't excite me much, so very rarely buy them. So, I was heartened to be able to buy a couple of the latest in Royle's Marines and Saxon Eagles. night of Fear wasn't too far away from being bought either. I just hope they keep up this wider interpretation of war stories, as that was the norm a few years ago.

Yes, Phoenix, I'll give it a try but the last time I offered a pricing suggestion they smiled nicely and, as I discovered later, took no notice. The comics are still there.

You might have better luck if you take them to a different charity shop.

Just won the Bash Street Kids Summer Special, 2002.

Was there any more summer specials by the kids beyond 2002, and was there a 1997 special?

Ta, Dandy Mad. But unfortunately, I have a problem. I have had problems with the seller previously. I have bought stuff off him, but they never arrived.

What a shame.
