Well either you bought it (1)not knowing part had been cut out(2)It came in a bulk lot (3)You knew about the cut out and got it at a low price.
I once bought a number of Wonder/Treasure mags and afterwards found some with cut outs I tend to check them more thoroughly these days. One exception was when I paid 20p for a TV FUN ANNUAL knowing that it had a lot of pages missing.I just liked the comic parts that were left. :) Months later I picked up a complete copy at a carboot for a pound.

No I picked up about 20 Mirabelles for £6 each. I checked a couple but they all looked in very good condition. I picked up 39 copies of Harper's Young People magazine from 1888 on Sunday at the ephemera fair - they were only a pound each and again they looked in really nice condition and were all complete. I have been caught out a few times but you are usually given a discount so can't complain. I'm not going to go through 39 magazines page by page. I was looking through some really cheap TV Tornados a couple of fairs back and noticed they seemed a bit light, sure enough they had pages missing.

Just bought this very nice old British horror reprint "The Ghost Rider No. 11... versus Ghost Ants" - 68 pages for 1/-, courtesy of Cartoon Art Publications of Glasgow. I don't suppose anyone knows what year these were produced or what the cover is a reprint of (if it is)?

Now this is interesting. The Guide shows only 3 reprints of this series in 1952. So, obviously, it's wrong. But the issue you have looks like a straight reprint of the ME (Magazine Enterprizes) issue #11 from 1953. You can read and compare the original here:-

Good to see that all the boot sales are back with the daffodils and April showers. This morning I picked up a couple of old girls' annuals for £1 each - including a 1930s copy of the Happy Girl's Book from DC Thomson. Does anybody know how many of these were published? (Mine has a girl with her arms in the air on the cover, and the inscription 'to Dolly from Uncle John, Xmas 1933')

There were seven, Phil, between 1930 and 1936. Yours will be the 1934 annual. There should be a tent in the background.

That's it - thanks Phoenix! I guess these annuals made up to some extent for the relative lack of girls' story papers from DC Thomson.

Hope you are all finding the comics you're looking for.

£8.20p bought me all these from holiday carboots.
Here are two photos of what I bought the first one showing 3 favorites http://pho.to/9ELPB

2×THE CHAMPION 1952
PICTUREGOER magazine 1950
9xACNE
VIZ
WAGON TRAIN ANNUAL1959
LAUREL AND HARDY BUMPER BOOK
Marvel ACTION FORCE this has cellotaped edge
How To Draw COMICS comic 1985-------I like these comic format oddities.
DC ACTION COMICS 1986
DC THE SUPER FRIENDS 198
DC DETECTIVE X2 1988
DARK CORNERS 1998
CHARLTON COMICS FIGHTING ARMY 1973
DC GHOSTS 1978 ( probably my favourite buy)
DC DOOR TO NIGHTMARE 1978
Free Easter BEANO Brewers fayre (obtained from restaurant)
All the US comics were chosen because they have complete stories and none of to be continued plots.

There was one disappointment ,one of the carboot stalls had a box of comics which included the Uk black/ white reprints of the Creepy Worlds / Voodoo/Suspense types but wanted £3 each, they also had a box of UK comics which had a lot of old comics including the large format Topper and Beezer .When I inquired about the price I was told it depends which ones.Since I would probably pick out the most expensive I decided to move on.

Not comics but comic books. In this case Miracleman books 1 through 3. Now I can catch up with storyline as I stopped reading Marvelman when it stopped appearing in Warrior.

Also got The Walking Dead books 10 & 11.

After all the hullabaloo of getting to the Heros Convention, Karen bought a Vampirella GN scripted by Mark Millar and Grant Morrison. And I bought book 1 of Uber and the second half of The Establishment. And I did get some art too. I will post photos on the ComicCon thread.

I bought the complete run of Action which has just been delivered today. Cost me a few quid but worth it. :)

Although I was at Hero Con in Edinburgh, there was sfa for me on the dealers' tables, and I don't enjoy a lot of the small press work. However, the day was saved when I bought a couple of the Doctor Who collections from Waterstones. What a good read, but aren't they heavy to read in bed? Having read very few WHO comics, I was really pleased with the new monthly and deciding to buy the collections was a good choice.

Glad you found something Paw. I did notice that UK comics were thin on the ground with the dealers. I am still bouncing off the walls with your kind donation to the colcool007 art collection! I did pick up a couple of rather nice sketches though.
