you must be in a minority, Kashgar, but at least with collectors like yourself you at least maintain, if not unique, a very limited collection. In time, you will be heralded, believe me. I have an empty wrapper - you have substance

Well, 2000AD popped up on my feed with a deal I could not resist. A hardback version of Fiends Of The Eastern Front is currently on sale for £3.99. £2 for the book and £1.99 for postage. I did not think it too much.

I'm glad my work here is not completely in vain.

We went to the comic fair in the Trades Hall in Glasgow yesterday. I left it late as I did not want us to spend too much. So we did our bit to support the small press with picking up issue 3 of City Of Lost Souls, (Karen loves it) issue 1 and 2 of Horror Show and the trade paperbacks of Space: Above and Beyond and Garth Ennis' War Stories Volume 1 and a wee gem of a Star Trek Fotonovel of The City on the Edge of Forever.

Well done, Colin. I must have left just a tad before you got there. I didn't see that ST photo novel, which is just as well as had I, it wouldn't have been there for you

I enjoyed the mart and met a lot of folk. There were some good conversations but not a lot for me, although I passed up a Dell western that it turns out I don't have. Very little British stuff.
There appears to be a wee mart in Falkirk next weekend so I have to chase about to find out where, when and who's running it. If I get details I'll post them in the appropriate section.

I went to the London Comic fair and picked another load of 60s Beezers and Toppers for a pound each as well as about 50 Lions from 1967-1969 for a pound each. Lovely condition too. Quite a few four page inserts in the Lions including Giggle, Jag and Shoot no. 1s and Whizzer and Chips nos 1 and 2. And a four page ad for Valiant which had a free gift.

Bought last week but arrived today, the first five issues of Scorcher including the free gifts. For the grand sum of £3.19. Who say's there are no bargains out there.

i have a full set of the Star Trek photonovels - put them on ebay a few times but no takers.

One of those 60 Alan Class comics I bought is Tales of the Supernatural which is unnumbered and only lasted one issue. According to the Price Guide for Great Britain its valued at £125.00 I'll put a cover scan in the gallery soon.

Well I got to the Falkirk mart a little before 11 and had a great time chatting with all. I got a great sketch from the new inker of City Of Lost Souls. I also picked up 12 Commandos for a very reasonable price. All pre-1980 so I was chuffed with that. A rather strange gentleman showed me some French fancies (Ooh er Mrs!) and gave me one of them, along with some Hornets and some 2000ADs. And then I did a private deal that netted me another 30 Commandos.

All in all, a rather nice day out. The only downer was missing our Chris and paying double for parking.

I won six Bunty Summer Specials in Phil Shrimpton's auction. That was yesterday evening, and they should arrive tomorrow. Also, earlier today I gritted my teeth and shelled out on a copy of Remembered Reading, Dr Mel Gibson's new book about story papers for girls. I should get that on Wednesday.

I will be interested to know what you think once you've read Mel's book! Do let us know.

It arrived today, yet I hadn't used Amazon Prime's next day delivery service. Amazing! I will definitely report back, comixminx. I am looking forward to reading it.

Well after using the Swapsies site, I got a delivery this evening of 90 plus Commandos and a War Picture Library. If you add that to the 42 I got at the weekend, you can tell I am a happy bunny.
