Love the Dandy cover- nice to see Dan going solo on the cover- which is a bit of a surprise- I was half expecting Jak to start taking over! Is that a Ken Harrison cover? The scenery and horse look very KHH, but Dan himself looks a bit different. Well, obviously different to the recent 'incarnation', but still different to the previous one, slightly...Maybe it's just his eyes being closed... but I like it all the same, it look fab! I think it is Ken...

Ross

(Excuse my Dan artwork obsession- even as a kid I could tell when he wasn't drawn by KHH!)

I just used whatever Amazon had for sale. Didn't see any girl's comic annuals.

Yes there will be... but I only used the ones that Amazon had cover images of at the moment. It is not a comprehensive listing. Just a preview of some of the books. As I said on the blog "They should all be out by September, along with many more".

Wierd, they had the images of Dennis and Bash Street kids on there when I was on there last week.

Just checked - they are up now anyway. [img:500:500]http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/I/6 ... SS500_.jpg[/img]

Is this this first time David Sutherland hasn't done the Bash Street cover?

No... September 1st has always been the traditional date annuals started to appear in shops, though I do recall a little shop-come-wholesalers locally whch used to get them in 'upstairs' as early as June/July (and which you could buy, though they closed a few years back! Damn... ) and my mother got me the first 'Terrahawks' annual as early as May by virtue of her mail order catalogue (when the autumn/winter editions are sent out). They've clamped down on that too in recent years... with an embargo date!
