For those of you that have me on their Facebook, you will know that I have found that there are a significant number of comics that I no longer need to buy. But I have just done a deal to fill another 140 gaps in my Commando collection.
I started to say something sensible but my parents took over my brain!

6 from the first 1000 and the rest from 1000 and upwards, so early-ish rather than from the first 500. However, as these are all to fill gaps, that is a bonus all by itself rather than getting another batch that are half to fill gaps and half to contrast and compare with my current holdings to figure out which one goes on the doubles pile!

I love filling gaps! I'm concentrating on getting the random 400 ish that I need between #900 and #4900. Once I get close to completing that, I'll be saving my pennies to concentrate on the earlier issues where I'm woefully short.

A dealer at the ephemera fair had quite a few Commandos yesterday. Around the 700 numbering. 6p and 7p issues?

I picked up Wham 112 which has the very first FF story. Only £4.

If they were around the 700s, they would all be 6p issues as Commando went to 6p from issue 587 in 1971 and stayed at that price until issue 903 in 197.

As a matter of interest Steve, how much was he looking for per issue?

I didn't look at the prices of the Commandos but there were lots of other library sized comics and I think they were £2 - £3 each. The next ephemera fair at the end of April is a Pulps special which includes comics. The dealer, Jon, is there every month and has lots of comics. He had a huge pile of Beanos and Dandys from 1969-70. Always gives a nice discount.

Picked up the first Valiant summer special. Never had it before so that's a good one for me.

Was that on Ebay?? I missed it if it was! I still need that one and the one from 1967. I've got 11 Valiant specials now from 1968 onwards but still some to go. I haven't seen the 1966 one on Ebay for 3 years or so and the '67 one is usually very pricey at the £50 ish mark.

Yeah on eBay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Valiant-Summe ... SwmgJY2Zq0

I'll give it a bit of a flatten and it looks like quite a nice copy.

The ephemera fair is at the Royal National - the same place as the comic fair. The next Comic fair is 23 April and the Ephemera is 30 April. I'll try to put a flyer up here.

Savage Sword of Conan Monthly #1 with free gift poster - Marvel - 1977

I collect British Boys #1 comics and have done for some time, mainly from the 60s and 70s but more and more recently from the 80s, 50s and before. This comic however is I think, the last one I needed from the year 1977 which is my first complete year!

I have the #1 issues, all bar one with their gifts, of:
2000AD
Cheeky Weekly
The Complete Fantastic Four
Disney Time
Fury
The Lone Ranger
Plug
Rampage
Read to Me
Savage Sword of Conan monthly
Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger
Tarzan Monthly
Tarzan Weekly

Anyone notice any omissions?
