Talk here about just about anything associated with British comics or story papers and the industry that does not fit in any other forum.
There are separate fora open to registered members for discussing specific comics, artists, websites etc.
Unca Col. writes, "He's already had me searching for this one! It was I that recommended you as the guru for this one. I just can't find anything about it. When Adam posts the information, I hope it's enough to help us both find out something more about this unknown comic."
Thanks for the "guru" accreditation but I don't think I deserve it
I was also trying, obviously unsuccessfully, to suggest that other members might fancy doing a bit of research into the more distant and obscure areas of British comics, as you, Colin, have done and are doing. Your investigations for example into Micron and it's connections to other wee companies was excellent. But I suppose it's not everyone's cup of tea. I happen to love digging up/stumbling upon info. on obscure comics and publishers - not only British, and as that info. can nowadays be easily shared, it makes it all the more important.
Anyway, we await Adam's post with baited breath - and then we'll fall on our bahookies again 'cos we still wont be any the wiser.

Or I had until the seller cancelled the sale and refunded after saying they hadn't charged enough.
Cheers
Its back on for £60 if you're still interested
I've let my feelings be known in their feedback.
Love it, I've never had to leave neg. before, looking forward to it though. Best one I ever saw was something like 'Picked the wrong one to mess with mate, expect a visit' Often wondered what happened in the end.
Yeah, £35 for that sort of thing was good money, they were stupid to slam the door in your face like that. Let's hope it now goes unsold at that higher price.
I was going to be good but when someone puts up a pile of Picture Libraries less than 10 miles from the house, it would be rude to refuse wouldn't it?
Today started off well with me picking up 40 Picture Libraries and a random sample of 19 Wizards between 1934 and 1959 from the Post Office. It got even better when I picked up not one but four D C Thomson girls' annuals with their dustjackets for the princely sum of £2.00. And if that was not good enough I picked up the aforementioned Picture Libraries which can be broken down as 90 Commandos, 118 Fleetway which were a mix of Air Ace, War and Battle, 2 Fame Press and 3 Microns.
I was really chuffed to picked up Rule of Tyranny and if you have read my recent blog articles, you will understand why.
I was also chuffed to pick up Blind Man's Bluff and A Stubborn Streak as both are signed and the signatures have made it through the editing process.
I started to say something sensible but my parents took over my brain!
Gene Autry & Champion #1 - WDL - 1956
Jungle Jim #1 - WDL - 1955
1st Valiant Summer Special - 1966
Valiant Space Special - 1967
Commando Annual - 1979 (just need the other one)
Oh yes........and I finally finished negotiating for my most expensive comic purchase ever.......#1-1000 of Commando! They won't be with me for a couple of weeks but I'm as excited as a kid at Christmas. It means I'll only be 2-300 short of the whole set. It's also meant that I'm going to have to go on a selling spree, comic related and anything else I can get my hands on, to start trying to cover the cost!
First to go will be about £1000 worth of Ultimate Spiderman comics as I have no interest in them any more.
............and then the next Compal auction comes up.......

Thanks Bri, I understand the worry with missing parcels but I've bought the comics privately and not via ebay so it should be OK. The delay is the fact that I have a friend picking them up and bringing them to me. Recently, my biggest problems with ebay has been the shoddy quality of the comics, packaging or both. I had some turn up this week in a jiffy bag!
I'm hoping the missing Commandos won't be too difficult as they are later ones and with colcool007's help and contacts, I'm hoping to complete the collection by Christmas.

Commando comics arrived yesterday and I'm just about to go through them. Very excited! I've worked out that I need 225 more for the set.
At the last minute I also bought from the same chap, an almost complete set of Starblazer which I have now integrated into my collection meaning that I'm only missing 8 from the set (258, 265, 266, 268, 270, 271, 273, 277 if anyone has some spare ones lying around) and over 250 left over to sell on Ebay!
I also picked up 2 one shot comics by PM Productions from 1943. Top Hole and Radiant. Images below
