This morning I received one of those standard emails that Amazon send out periodically when they are touting for business. So, just in case any interested and/or impecunious member hasn't yet bought Football's Comic Book Heroes, it is now available from them for £11.96, which is a 40% reduction from the RRP.

WH Smith in Wimbledon currently selling When the Comics Went to War at £9.99. Not sure if it is available in all their stores.

Do retailers rely solely on discounting to sell through product?

By the way I will post details of an initiative relating to Barrie Mitchell during the next few days.

We are having an exhibition of prints from the football book in Walthamstow, north east London. It would be good to see anyone who could make it.

Discussions are ongoing regarding future editions.

Unfortunately the book trade is currently struggling and publishers are not commiting to new titles.

It maybe necessary to evaluate the concept and establish new routes to market. We will keep you posted.

By the way the limited editions of the football and war books are due for release. Go to http://www.remember66.com for details of the football book.

Guess the effects of the recession are still being felt.

EDIT: As shown in the Book Bargains thread that just got posted - your books have both been discounted at The Works! £4.99.

Just because the publishers have given up on our books, doesn't mean we have to
