I meant orientation towards adults, i.e. a man attracted to other men is homosexual. A man attracted to women is heterosexual. A man attracted to prepubescents is a paedophile. I think it's an important distinction to make because of age-old prejudices like "homosexuals should never be teachers because they pose a greater threat to children," etc.

I was introduced to most of the EC titles by the old Russ Cochran (b & w) box sets and think the artwork looks great - even enhanced - in black and white; maybe it's because I got used to that, but when I started getting the colour reprints I didn't find them quite as striking, so I'd say it definitely doesn't detract. I think Williamson's and Wood's look especially good in monochrome.

I agree. I really wish I could afford those new 'Artist's Editions' that print same-size facsimiles of the original art boards.

There's a large picture of Oor Wullie on today's Sunday Post cover, and it isn't just advertising his story inside.

Saw it in Tesco but it was the only copy and was rain soaked - like a lot of their papers today. The delivery man must leave them outside the back door as its not the first time they've had water damaged papers. I usually buy The Sun on Sunday but today's front cover devoted to Katie Price put me right off. I know the currant bun isn't for intelligent people but surely nobody can be persuaded to buy a paper by having some empty headed bimbo on the front shouting about her sex life?

Did anybody else come across these two Broons specials given away with the Sunday Post over the past couple of weeks? Both are 32 comics with every page drawn by Ken Harrison. Copies are now selling on ebay.

I got the second one, but missed getting the Sunday Post from the week before so I missed the first one. Ken H makes a welcome comeback with a fair whack being contributed by him.

I thought it was all drawn by him - I'll have to take a closer look. Like you I got the second issue first - in Bloomsbury on my way to the ephemera fair - and got part 1 from the Sunday Post who kindly sent me a copy. I offered to pay. My mate Steve is trying to win both issues from ebay but keeps getting outbid.

There were three specials actually. I plugged them on my blog weeks ago. I don't know why some members here don't follow my blog and those blogs by others about British comics as there's stuff on them that should interest members of Comics UK:

The only thing not by Ken in the third one was the back cover, by Peter Davidson. It's worth noting that while I think Morris and Craig (Ferguson) reused some material in the second special from weekly strips, Ken and Peter's work in all three specials were recaptioned.

I didn't know there was a third one. I'll have to get it from ebay.

You already have the second and third ones - the first one was a Rabbie Burns special.
