Funilluy enough I recentlybought that final Sally annual at a market in Yorkshire for under a pound; it's well worth looking for & has much of early strips esp . Maisie's Magie Eye, before Rob MacGillivray took over.

Judging by the titles that list of the last June stories, it does seem that it improved towards the end - largely ie it got shot of some of its weak and dire strips such as The Boss Of Beadle Street, Annie's Army and the Pixie refugee Mini Ha-Ha - a strip more suited to PlayHour!

They really should have got shot of that "and Pixie" from the titlehead. It soyunds like the name of a nursery comic and was aimed at a younger audience that June's target one.

Annie's Army looked 20 years out of date - might've been ok if it was about a girl who has to assemble her own army from scratch and drawn by John Richardson (drew many war strips), leaving Rob MacG free to do LLD.

My articvle on June's decline is written always awaiting research, but I also keep finding new things on Comics Uk site to add (esp Pat Mills' article, mentioning on how artists were moved to unsuitable strips & IPC's chopping and changing artists - John Richardson & LLD an example).

I have been debating whether or not to keep my Junes. How are you for buying?

Oh, John Richardson came to Tammy with the June merger. I was wondering when he was going to turn up. Which would make the Cover Girls Tammy and June, perhaps.

Yes, that was how they introduced themselves in the complete story they had at one point. The girl with loose blond hair was Tammy and the girl with pigtails was June. And they were sisters.

The first story John Richardson drew for Tammy was Eva's Evil Eye. But that was the only serial he drew in Tammy. Otherwise he drew for Wee Sue, Strange Stories, Monster Tales and complete stories such as The Turning Point and Shock Treatment. Wonder why he never got another Tammy serial?

Yes, I noticed it too. It is odd. Still, that was how they introduced themselves. Continuity error, maybe?

Looking over my small collection of Junes, I notice that June seemed to have more gymnastics stories, notably Gymnast Jinty. Only a few short months before she joined Tammy, she had Sylvie on a String. Is it possible that Bella at the Bar was originally written for June? Or was inspired by June? The only gymnastics story Tammy had was the 1972 story, Amanda must not be Expelled.

Tammyfan - yes please I'd LOVE to buy those Junes if you're selling them.

Just let me know what arrangements you'd like to make (ie pricing/handover etc).

I'd better let you know I don't own a computer at the present, so I rely on library & workplace comps when I can (which is why my responses sometimes may take longer).

Even more simpleton though is a small problem - I forgot you lived in NZ/abroad & I've never been abroad and never bought anything from abroad anywhere, & I've never heard of Paypal, nor own a safer credit card. Am trying to think of way around asap.

Sorry I appear stupid, but I've never had or found anyone to take the time to sit down and show me the basic stuff on websites and internets; it's makes me very tearful and frustrated & turning me into a technophobe.
