Yes, thanks from me too, Hen. I'm finding it interesting because while I have virtually all the picture story papers for boys and for girls from DCT, as I never bought them as they came out I have so far shown scant interest in their free gifts. I am now, however, actively seeking those from the company's titles for girls to use as illustrations in a forthcoming book, which to be fair is still at the planning stage, so I have plenty of acquisition time.

Lovely Photos! The Sparky gift giving in 67 accompanied a very large content overhaul indeed. Nine new strips (which took up half the comics content) and a much more modern masthead logo. It was in Sept 1967 that the comic started moving away from it's `Magic` style that it had debuted with. In 69, another very large overhaul would complete this change of style. The "Target Tiddlywinks" was a pretty unique gift. I can't recall another like it in any other comic! Am I correct?

In 1968 there were no fun gifts at all from the five `Fun` titles `Dandy` `Beano` `Topper` `Beezer` and `Sparky` in fact, if not for the debut of "Twinkle" in early 1968 (Which gave out six gifts in 68 I think) 1968 would have had less than the 21 of 1962!

Free Gifts 1968

As has already been mentioned by Alan none of the five Thomson comic titles Dandy, Beano, Topper, Beezer and Sparky produced a free gift between them. Neither did Rover & Wizard meaning that of the 777 issues published across fifteen different juvenile titles it was only in fact nine of them that were responsible for the 27 gifts available that year.
