For anyone who's interested here's a TV Tops cover which partly reproduces two interior pages. The Adam Ant strip in particular was quite nicely drawn; not sure who illustrated it but it looks like one of the Spanish agency artists who worked for James Warren in the US and Misty in the UK.

It was good to be reminded of those TV Action covers btw. I've heard that Gerry Haylock (who drew most of them) didn't think much of his own work during this period, but it always looked great to me. Does anyone know if he's still alive?

I was of the opinion that it was drawn by Gordon and the late Maureen Gray before TV Tops died a death and they transferred over to Look-in.

Actually I'd already had second thoughts about the Spanish agency idea after spotting a clear 'Frank Bellamy' influence in one of the strips which made a UK artist much more likely. The Grays sound spot-on (which is quite impressive as even Paul Gravett had to list Adam Ant as "artist unknown" in his Great British Comics ). Presumably they also drew the 'Buck Rogers' strip which later took its place.

I'm of the opinion, initially yes it was the Grays but another unknown artist did take over for the latter stories. Does Kashgar have any views on who it might have been?

I'd also like to know for certain who did 'Minder'... was it Ron Tiner?

Trapdoor looks like Terry Bave. Probably not, but very like it.

I can't really see any similarity to Terry's work there. No idea who it is by though.
