Yes, I noticed that pretty quickly. The colouring looks inconsistent as well - in some of the 'boxes' it looks alright, but in others it is fuzzy, which makes it look bad and dated. However, it was fine in this week's issue.

Peter - I like The McTickles as well. I think that, along with his Plug covers and Billy Whizz, was his best work.

I'm thinking of having a go at drawing a couple of Billy Whizz strips in a Vic Neill style and send them off to Beano Towers in Dundee for feedback. I just need some good A3 paper...

I'd send them scans if I were you.

I've got the A3 paper now, but I don't have an A3-sized scanner, and doubt I will be able to get access to one. I have tried scanning in an A3 comic strip before, but only by splitting the page in the middle (on screen, not physically!), which sort of messed up its appearance. What can I do? Thanks for the help as always.

By the way, I've made a start on my strip, but I've only done two frames so far (lack of time added to creative decisions that I've needed to make).

Is there any chance we could get some more info about Vic? I'd love to know more about him, Googling 'Vic Neill' produces next to nothing. Unfortunately, it's the same for most British comic artists.

Btw, I've almost finished my strips (I've done pages). I've got a couple of exams at the moment, but when they're finished I will complete my last page and then send them off.

I went to a printers (local to me Godalming) who can reduce your A3 drawings...to A4 in good quality then you can scan into your own scanner..

I've done that with my latest animal drawings..

of course photocopiers can do this in libraries..print shops..
for quality go to a printers...

they are now printing out slightly smaller than A6 prints on glossy paper of my animal drawings.which I'll stick onto colour card...
I'm doing 60 of each 13 aniaml drawings,,,,,,,,,they will print about 6 on each page and then cut it for me......
could be about 5p one drawing..
it means i save money and time.and better quality...

Looking through a couple of 1998 Dandy comics yesterday, I noticed that Vic drew Korky the Cat. I didn't know he drew Korky, I would have thought Bob Nixon would be drawing the strip at that time (he definitely stopped in 1999, though in the issues I have he did draw Beryl the Peril). Did he draw it regularly, ghost it, or was it unusual? I know at the same time he was drawing Billy Whizz every week, Tim Traveller quite regularly, and occasionally The Germs (which never seemed to appear that regularly).
