Re: The best artists we never had

Sorry, but he's already drawn Little Plum, between 2002 and 2007. I didnt find that version of the strip that funny anyway.

If you had been following up appropriately on tictak's post, you would have said Little Plum by Hunt Emerson would be even better. The fact that you didn't means that you were giving an opinion about strips you had already seen, which undermines and distorts the entire thrust of this thread.skyromie wrote:Little Plum by Hunt Emerson is even better.

I've only seen him do one, and I want him to do more. What's wrong with that, Teach?Jonny Whizz wrote:Which artists would you have liked to have seen draw a particular strip, who never (or very rarely) did that strip in real life?
He drew him for five years, i have to tell you. Not one of my favourites.skyromie wrote:Phoenix wrote:If you had been following up appropriately on tictak's post, you would have said Little Plum by Hunt Emerson would be even better. How is he correct? The thread is about artists who could have done a good job on strips, but never got the chance! Can you not see that?AndyB wrote:Skyromie is actually correct, because Hunt has drawn Plum, and I suspect Nigel has drawn him in cameos etc.
Can we stop the grammatical nitpicking, because it is not helpful to the flow of discussion. Substance, not style.
This reply has nothing to do with substance or style, but about respect. By choosing to address me as Teach rather than by my username, you insult me, and by so doing, you are diminished in everyone's eyes.skyromie wrote:What's wrong with that, Teach?
He was talking to Johnny Whizz, not you. I'm sorry if i insulted you but he was actually quoting Jonny there. AndyB and Skyromie should both hang their heads in shame.Phoenix wrote:This reply has nothing to do with substance or style, but about respect. Maybe so, but he thought Hunt was a one-off artist for Little Plum. The rules would be twisted in his little world, but arguably it doesent stand in this world. A very unusual post.AndyB wrote:Believe me, skyromie was addressing Phoenix as Teach, quoting Jonny in support of his argument. It isn't acceptable behaviour under any circumstance, but it stands because of the substantive point he made that it is correct to say that in his opinion, Hunt's Plum is better than Nigel's would be (or already is) - we could delete the post under the rules, but it isn't worth deleting without deleting several others at the same time.
Hunt drawing Little Plum is technically off-topic as he's already done it for quite some time. It isn't so far off-topic as to be worth doing anything about.
Now can we get back to discussing who would be a good untested artist for what characters and strips? If someone posts a personal attack on you or goes off-topic, please use the ! Button to report it and stop responding in the thread.
