Found The Barkers, and in a nice big size too. From issue dated 16th September 1972.

An excellent idea, guys, illustrating the lesser-known [or long-since-published] strips as we go along......I will try and add some myself.
Incredible it's been nearly 20 years since these comics folded......great to see there is still some interest in them. I'm collecting the mid-late 60s/early 70s ones as they're the ones I remember. I may get round to earlier editions eventually, but they're much sought-after.

I have a reasonable amount now, and they still impress me greatly: definately more than Beano, Dandy or Sparky, it must be said.....but this is probably down to the classy presentation of the blown-up frames. The other comics also had cool artwork, but it's so shrunken-down in comparison: it's like watching a film on youtube versus seeing it at the pictures.

Cartoon strips today [whether in comics or newspapers] sure benefit from modern colouring techniques, but so much potency is lost in the visuals compared to Beezer and Topper [pre-tabloid].

I never thought the 'Barkers' were very Beezer-like, but this strip ran for a fairly long time during the early 70s, so somebody must have liked it.

The illustrated guide factor reaps quality dividends.

I like seeing the whole comic page..so lets keep that feature..
But nice and tidy Steel..

Yeah, whole pages are better. The point is to be able to identify the characters, the titles don't always do that.

I perfer the whole pages that's why I sugested it
It was just an easy guide and in order showing Title & Character next to each other or couldn't you see that?

I thought you meant that..you didn't have to delete it..

That was a darn- tootin' assemblage of frames you put on here, Steelclaw, and it's a shame you were compelled to remove the items: you nay-sayers oughta be ashamed of yourselves!

Digfield and myself both responsed to your request to see the comic pages of the characters mentioned..It was great to see the barkers for example..

Then you cut the titles off and put in order..

I said I prefer whole pages so did digifield..
though having both is nice and tidy..

all we meant is that we should continue with Steels idea of a whole page and not just the titles from now on..

Please Steel put the titles back up digifield and myself didn't mean anything you thought..

Both is a great idea...good ideas of you steel..

Is it too much to expect people to express their thoughts clearly, showing at least some acceptance that the English language has rules of grammar? And how is it possible to misspell three times the name of a member with over 3000 posts to his name?

I do have trouble with spelling and Grandma erm Grammar..

always checking in the google box if its spelt right or asking the wife..
