Any good "emporiums" in London?

Great thanks - do you know which undergrounds are near the Camden ones?

I'm itching to get to 30th sooner than later after seeing site, but I've got to wait and walk my health/money/personal tightrope first.

The easiest way to get from central London to 30th Century Comics is by the number 22 bus which runs from Piccadilly Circus along Piccadilly (see http://www.tfl.gov.uk/gettingaround/map ... x?route=22 for more details), then right past 30th Century's front door on Lower Richmond Road. Lower Richmond Road is first right after the bus crosses the River Thames -- the shop's about 100 yards along on the right hand side, just before the Half Moon Pub. this website http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=52 ... hp=ids.srf shows you where.

(Two of the shop's owners are old friends of mine, which is why I'm going to this trouble -- it's a great shop, though, and anyone who lies UK comics will find it well worth a visit. Lots of everything, including girls' comics.

I really must pay 30th Century a visit next time I go to London - thanks for the bus info! I've often considered going there by tube (which I hate) and then decided not to bother. I wouldn't mind going by bus and it'll be cheaper (and cheaper again with my oyster card). I've bought quite a few girl's comics from them online but it would be great to go there and look through all their girl's comics - I'd probably want to buy far too much!

My mate Steve (no relation) goes to 30th Century every few weeks - he always takes the bus. I went with him once. He gets a copy of Alter Ego for me each time he goes. My problem was that I wanted to buy the whole shop so ended up buying not very much.

Just want to say a big thank you for the info on 30th Century Comics.

I went there yesterday via a 22 bus (which suddenly terminated at Putney Bridge station itself, so it was a cold windy walk across the Thames & then initially got lost).

When i got there - wow!- so much stuff there I wanted to buy it all, but my finances & muscles wouldn't take it.

Brought myself a mountain of stuff & even now I'm hungry for more and a return visit! The guys who worked there were great and very helpful.

Loved the area shop was in too - very bohemian street, but alas I hadn't time to stick around, so I'll be investigatin this more hopefully soon.

I went via coach, going overnight (booked in advance very cheaper), and it saved on staying overnight & paying a lot (and this includes a discount I could get as I work in travel). Am knackered but worth it & would do it again (just annoying that the jonsworths at Nat Express said I was carrying more than one bag & the others would have to go in trunk. I merged them all into one to put on luggage rack).

I keep meaning to go there myself when I'm in London, but never seem to have time.

I ended up getting mostly a lot of June & Schoolfriends. Much as I could afford & carry!

Plus one copy of Sally (only edition they had).

3 June picture libraries, plus a Lucky Charm - The Balloon Of Doom.

There was so much more I'd have liked to have bought - from editions of Cracker so I could remember what it was like, to 1970s Beezers - inc once I once owned many years ago (one of the front-covered Ginger strips I remembered exacted word and frame - stuck in my head) to Toppers & Whizzer & Chips.

And down to the likes of Scorcher for footie strips and Look-In for TV.

Sounds like I'm going mad but I'm itching to go there again sooner the better (and take time with a good mooch about Putney inc pubs too).

Well worth a visit!
