Here are some rarely seen Watkins Our Gang strips from the mid 40s. I have some two pagers but these are easier to put on. That ebay item said it appeared in the first 100 issues of the Dandy but these are from the early 300s.

I've got quite a few Dandy comics from that era and I think the single page strips started in mid 1940 not too sure though as there are gaps as ever with wartime Dandy comics with them being a bit thin on the ground also they should have appeared in the annuals but DCT wouldn't cough up the readies to pay the licensing fee so the strip never made it into hardback

Ah, that title header proves my point (post 11 on page 1 of this thread) about Lord Snooty. Alfalfa Switzer looks just like Doubting Thomas, Billy Thomas looks like Polly, and Patsy May looks like Rosie. It seems Dudley used the same character designs for those characters. In all three cases, the Our Gang characters predate the Snooty ones.

Interesting to see that there were no bids for that Watkins page at £250. Maybe 'Momtix' would be prepared to let it go for less if somebody asked? I always found him to be a really friendly chap when he used to travel down to the Birmingham Memorabilia fairs.

I'm attempting to rebuild my Scorcher n Score collection. Had a full set in the 70's but threw them away circa 1980 to create some space. :-(
