It's a sign that the temperature is soaring as I caught sight of the 2015 Beano Annual in a local bookshop today!

Received the Dandy Annual 2015 in the post yesterday. (Ordered online from the DC Thomson shop.) I know I'm biased as one eighth of the content is by me, but I think it's a great edition this year! All new material again and packed with content.

Looking forward to the Dandy Annual and Our Wullie and Broons annuals this year. I wont have any problems with Christmas gifts

I just believe how soon they are printed these days it was only a few weeks ago the summer specials were released.

They've always been published August time but they changed to July a few years ago.

I recommend the Dandy/Beano classic collection this year too. Loads of 1940s strips. Reviewed it on my blog:

The Beano Dandy Collection certainly looks like a good buy. It also looks a lot better than the last few years.

I bought my copy a few months back from the Book Depository, and should receive this in the next couple of weeks.

And I think it's the first time in a few years that none of the books were delayed in any way.

After a check on Amazon its good to see Andy Capp has got his own annual this year.
Also the Broons/Oor Wullie book is looking great in colour.

Picked up the Broons/Oor Wullie colour book today. For anyone interested: It's a mix of Dudley D Watkins and Ken H Harrison, with some Robert Nixon Wullie strips, along with some mini-strips featuring the Bairn and Harry. It's cinema-themed this year.

There's a bit where they show some of the strips from the ill-fated colour experiment in the early 90's, although curiously they only acknowledge and show the weird ones where the characters were in black and white, with everything else in colour. Guess showing the full-colour versions would've clashed with the whole "In colour for the first time" thing they're going with this year!

Has anyone noticed any shop(s) stocking the 'Comics That Won the War' book yet?

That sounds like a very interesting book, Raven. Have you any idea who has written it, or who will be publishing it when it does come out?

It's this year's annual Beano-Dandy (with a few other titles, this time) vintage compilation from D.C. Thomson, Phoenix. Lew did a piece on it here:

http://lewstringer.blogspot.co.uk/2014/ ... n-war.html

It was published on 4th July according to The Book Depository's website.

Thanks, Raven. It's on Amazon at £9.09 + VAT and p&p. I've ordered mine from Wordery at £6.28 + £2.80 p&p.

It was waiting for me when I got back from my Bank Holiday weekend break in Putney. Obviously I haven't had time to read it yet but it is a very professional production with lots of strips from the period.
