Commando just doesn't sell well enough. Who under fifty wants to read pretty routine WWII stories. The writing is still very much DC Thomson of 40 years ago too (I mean the reprints are almost identical in story telling to the current). Even in the Seventies, it felt dated. I thought it was better in the 2000s, when they brought in more tales from the civil war, future war, cowboys, Romans etc. but that stopped abruptly. Can't really blame that, given the title, but it lost my interest.
For the record, I don't see anything political in Commando. Warlord and Battle had it's fair share of non-PC terminology but also a fair amount of class war that Commando avoided (or sided with the officer class).
Modern politics is anti-woke (i.e., asleep). It's the far right dominating the headlines and on the rise in America, Russia and Europe.

Definitely cannot argue there as I think that stories about war are becoming more of a niche market (and possibly a dying one as their readership literally slowly die away). I still get it as it is one of the last of the "old guard" of comics. I am not a great fan of war stories (but though I do like the old war films) but I do love the stories featuring Heritage characters (Warlord, Cadman, etc...) which I collect. It will be a sad day when the day comes when it is discontinued.

I don't either but then I didn't notice it in Warlord or Battle either. Not that I look for it as all I want is a good read.

Personally I think that politics can be either - depending on who is doing the politicking. I like politics as much as the next guy. I just don't want it in everything I read or watch. It like salad cream. I do like it but not on every meal I eat and definitely not on my puddings.
