Wonderful stuff !!!Into The Abyss wrote: 16 Jul 2024, 13:22 Here's two nice pages of signed Lew Stringer cartoon art. One's an original page of " Tom Thug, the brainless bully" that appeared in Buster comic issue dated May 15th 1993. And the other, is a hilarious doodle gifted to me as a surprise for purchasing art by the great man himself.

Thanks jim244. Yeah, got over 30 pages now. Just love the way he draws his characters. I'm constantly amazed how much work Lew's done. Love his Dr Who strips too. Could have bought some of those recently for sale but had to juggle my finances. I know he's very approachable online being on countless comic art forums chatting to fans. Hell, he's a fan himself. Don't think he realises how good he is. He's an extremely nice bloke to deal with.jim244 wrote: 17 Jul 2024, 01:49Wonderful stuff !!!Into The Abyss wrote: 16 Jul 2024, 13:22 Here's two nice pages of signed Lew Stringer cartoon art. Amazing artist and very funny writer.
Used to read his blog before he stopped writing it,very knowledgeable chap.
I think he used to post here but was before I was a member.

Not sure jim224? It's very likely though. Coincidentally, first spoke to him via his blog about doing a commission. Very approachable. Got about 39 pages of his art now ranging from Tom Thug, Pete's Pimple & Vampire Brats...jim244 wrote: 25 Aug 2024, 22:16Fantastic !!!!Into The Abyss wrote: 21 Aug 2024, 20:38 Just bought two more pages of Buster 'Tom Thug' comic art direct from Lew Stringer. Was Lew not a member of this forum at one point?

Brilliant stuff and Lew seems like a really nice guy.I used to read his blog but he sadly ended it a few years back.Into The Abyss wrote: 26 Oct 2024, 11:27 Here's another two fantastic signed Lew Stringer 'Tom Thug, The Brainless Bully' pages from the Buster comic way back in 1992. He also generously included a cool Combat Colin page as a gift too. Can't praise him high enough.

Yeah, I agree he's a legend. Funnily enough that's how I got to deal with him. I visited his website where he featured some of his Buster artwork. Left a comment and he kindly replied, although I made a right mess of my post spellingwise and later deleted it to his bemusement. Had to apologise but he said there was nothing wrong with it. A diplomat. But I'm amazed how many pages of Tom Thug art he's done. The last count I've got about 30 pages. Been trying to source the comics too for the art. Surprising how difficult it is. Slowly getting there though.jim244 wrote: 07 Nov 2024, 00:05Brilliant stuff and Lew seems like a really nice guy.I used to read his blog but he sadly ended it a few years back.Into The Abyss wrote: 26 Oct 2024, 11:27 Here's another two fantastic signed Lew Stringer 'Tom Thug, The Brainless Bully' pages from the Buster comic way back in 1992. Lew knows a hell of a lot about comics and comic history which is unsurprising as he is part of it.
Legend.
