another bizarre bidding war involved Roy of the Rovers issue 1 with free gift football wall chart today. No less than 3 bidders eclipsed £90 for an item that generally goes for around £30-40 (even on Phil's Auctions). The winning bid was £103. But the same item with free gift in near mint condition was on a buy it now offer from Glastopopcult for £59.99 and had no takers. Glastopopcult certainly took notice because, within a couple of hours of this phenomenal winning bid, he revised his price and now offers the item at £89.99. Up to press, the two losing bidders who tried their luck with a bid of over £90 have yet to oblige Glastopopcult's revised price. But then, they never took his much lower price beforehand. Very strange.
Has anyone found ebay's new selling format utterly user-unfriendly? They have this stupid "Recommended price" option which is annoying beyond belief. I kept changing from their 99p option to my own price but after I had listed my item - and checked it - I saw that it was listed at 99p anyway. So I had to revise it. Because of all this messing around I found I had listed an item twice and just now - even though I chose "auction" it still listed it as auction and Buy It Now costing me 50p in fees. I had to remove it but then found I had used up my quota of free 20 listing even though i've only listed 17 items. Its a mess. I sent them several e-mails complaining. Some twit seems to have been employed by ebay to completely balls up their site. Well done.

where most comics are concerned, the value isn't consistent. One day, you will have two bidders determined to win comic "A". The next day, nobody's bothered.
