Today I got:
The four Commando issues
The Phoenix issue 69 (I think I've missed 68 >.< need to track it down)
The Lion Annual 1958 (pretty good nick and only £1.50, but I had to wait for ages while some nonsense with the till was sorted out)
and Hot for Boys: The Sexy Adventures of Rogue, a collection of pornographic strips by Oliver Frey, who also did stints on The Trigan Empire and Dan Dare back in the day. Some of this stuff is good enough to frame! Just don't let visitors wander into that room XD

I know someone who's worked with Oliver Frey, and he apparantley put phallic imagery into EVERYTHING he ever did for Crash back in the day. They can't be unseen once you've seen them!

Picked up the 1968 sole "Tina" annual in Sheffield on Saturday.

2000AD 1830 with the cool retro cover.
The Incredible Hulks 15.
The Beano 3682 with the Dennis the Menace strip starting on the front cover (when was the last time that happened?).

In that style? 1998.

I drew quite a few 'story on the cover' Beano's in 2006,7,8. Odd how people forget.

Ah. My excuse is that I never got the Beano during that time, NP.

My first issue of Lion comic, from 1952. I've never read Lion, so I'm interested to see how it stacks up in comparison to Eagle... should find out in a couple of days.

Today I got the Judge Dredd story The Day the Law Died... on TAPE!

Never knew there'd been audio drama versions. That's something else to look out for, alongside Round The Horne

At the comic fair in the Royal National Hotel last December that Lew recently reminded members that he had attended, I bought seven MP3 CDs. One of these was Round The Horne (88 programmes over 39 hours). There are also 29 episodes of Just A Minute with Kenneth Williams on the same CD. From the same stall I got 108 programmes of Beyond Our Ken (41 hours : 1 CD), 99 programmes of The Navy Lark (47 hours : 1 CD), ITMA (23.8 hours : 1 CD), Much Binding In The Marsh (11.7 hours : 1 CD), and 152 programmes of Take It From Here (68 hours in total : 2 CDs).

Went to Manchester on Tuesday, and to the always-amazing Empire Exchange. Didn't get as much as I usually do, but I DID get:

-Two issues of Buster Comic Library
-Four issues of Beano Comic Library
-Eight issues of Dandy Comic Library
-One of the new/old Popeye comics that IDW/Yoe! Comics are doing these days
-An issue of Krazy
-Jim Woodring's Weathercraft & Other Unusual Tales (Free Comic Book Day version)
-Last Gig in Shnagrlig by Gilbert Shelton
-Nuts, a "graphic novel" by Gahan Wilson
-Robot, a pop-up book by Jan Pienkowski in fantastic condition considering it's from 1981
-A nice big hardback thing called Illustrated Children's Books
-Also a couple of VHS tapes - one of those "Cartoons R Fun" tapes and an NME anti-Trident video with a Steve Bell cartoon on the cover

£22 for the lot, I love that shop

Thanks for the reminder. I went to my corner shop and bought a copy. (The only copy they had in fact, and my local Smiths stopped taking it months ago.)

CLiNT is another new UK adventure comic many of us had high hopes for which sadly also fell victim to delays. I see the next issue isn't scheduled to appear until August!

And speaking of delays it looks as though the latest issue of Multiverse (with the excellent 'Scraps no.1' insert by Blasé Books) is finally ready to go on sale!

Hmm, I suspect those will be of similar dubiousity to those "scanned comics" CD's

Somebody my mum works with has an offical box set of Round The Horne, which was apparently £100 when it was new, but now changes hands for closer to £300!

What I'd really like is more CD releases of the 90's series The X Fools!
