My local morrisons have put new Beano display boxes in all 4 corners above the newspapers & today all 4 was full to the brim with beano comics,i have never seen so many copies in one shop like that before, but i cant help feeling thomsons have missed an opportunity as they should have made 2 boxes for beano & 2 for dandy or morrissons could have at least filled 1 box full of dandys but they dont even stock it any more.does anyone else's local morrisons have these.

Just to clarify what I posted on my blog, officially the strip has been "rested" so I hope it will return at some point in the future.

To be honest, it wouldn't surprise me if they brought back Super School - in reprints.
It may seem ridiculous but I wouldn't put it past them.
The Beano do not understand the term "bring back" by the looks of it.
READER WITH GOOD TASTE: "Bring back Super School!"
BEANO: "Okay, we'll bring them back - and by that you mean as a reprint right?"
--
Bring back Super School! But not in reprints.

You know, they used Bananagirl to introduce Bananaman, but the two will now not get an opportunity to team-up.

Don't forget the six-year rolling embargo. The logic goes that no child will read comics for longer than six years, so therefore only strips which were published more than six years ago can be reprinted. The last time this barrier was really pushed was immediately before Roger went into reprints in spring 2011, when a few strips from 2005 were used.
On that basis, Super School won't be coming back before 2014.
(And yes, I know it's officially "rested", but so is Ivy, and she's not coming back either.)

It's a shame Super School's being rested, although in truth I don't think it will make that much difference as it has only been appearing occasionally for the past eighteen months or so anyway.
I can't remember seeing any Tom Paterson Super School strips in the Beano (or any by an artist other than Lew), but I suspect you'll know better than me and it may be that they appeared in BeanoMAX, which I don't usually buy.

Tom Paterson was the ghost-artist for Lew on two occasions. The first was the issue before the 2010 Summer Specials about a talent show I think. The second was entirely about Stinkbomb. I really enjoyed both but while really liking Tom's versions - they never got close to Lew's brilliant comic strips!

Ugh, Beano, Newcastle United's ground was not called the Sports Direct Arena in 2005! Should've used the stadium's original name, St James' Park. I imagine Geordies will be annoyed at this as they didn't like the stadium renaming in the first place.
Also, second panel of Dennis's strip, why does he say his dialogue twice?

Heh. And why is there a li'l word balloon over the bull's nose on Dennis page 2? Or the spelling error which ruins the gag on the back cover, or...I'll stop there. Some folks around here get grumpy if we start being too pedantic...
